As the name indicates, the best thing about this place is the wonderful view of the mountains and bluffs to the east, a view enhanced by the walk-out porch or balcony on each room.
The price was reasonable when we were there, but there was only one other couple in the place, which was kind of creepy. I half expected to see Jack Nicholson dragging an ax through the parking lot saying "Here's Johnny!"
Aside from the view and the lack of other guests, our experience was generally a good one. The office staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean. It was decorated in a kind of rustic, Western style, which some guests might find hokey but which we found to be a nice change from the homogeneity and sterility of most motel rooms. There were a few problems--our toilet dripped and the shower mat should have been replaced during the Bush Administration--but this was a fine place overall.
