We stayed 2 nights at the Terrace Brooke Lodge.
The location is great, there's this big red mountain right in front of it, and at sunset it's really amazing, and Zion National Part is very close. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom in good conditions, apart from some long hair clogging the shower. The sheets were clean, the carpet ok and the towels have been changed every day. The air conditioner was quite loud, at night, though. Now, Springdale is a very hot place, even at night, so the choice is to sweat a little bit during the night, or to keep that noisy thing up all night. But maybe (maybe) that was just our room.
Oh, wait. The breakfast space. Simply ridiculous. Way too small (a couple of tables and like 5 chairs in total), like the breakfast itself. I wonder what happens if all the guests go to have have breakfast at the same time.
Wi-Fi internet? i've found 3 networks apparently belonging to the hotel, but they were all locked. i didn't bother going to ask them for the password, and i just went out for dinner.

Breakfast wasn't really a breakfast, the bread had mold on it, the donuts were suppose to expire today, and would appear to have been in the fridge. There was no creamer for the coffee, there was only room for 6 people to eat in the lobby. The ice maker said not to take it for a cooler, but what else is the ice maker usually used for though? The TV had an issue with the color, so the picture would be a little off.

We booked this through Hotwire because it was "comparable to a Holiday Inn Express". Well, it is not, but we could tell that they were trying. They have internet, free breakfast, and a pool. Yes, the pool is small and cold, but our son usually had it to himself. The room was okay and mostly clean. The most pleasant surprise was the in room refrigerator and microwave. The downside was the carpet. It was cheap and worn out. Replacing carpet should be next on their “To Do” list. Overall, it is a friendly and cheap place to stay on a visit to Zion.

I really wanted to like this place. Our room was okay -- no frills, and after all, don't you travel to Zion NP for the park, not to sit around at the motel? But I found little things somewhat annoying. Like the fact that the reservation advertised that our room had a hair dryer as an amenity (is this really something to advertise?), but there was no such "amenity" to be found. If I had called the front desk I'm sure they would have had one there in an instant, but still, why advertise it if you can't deliver? The breakfast was terrible (you might as well build in an extra 5 bucks/person for a real cup of coffee and pastry at the coffee shop down the street), and I was shocked when I was informed that they would charge us to leave our car at the motel for a couple hours after our checkout. There are certainly nicer (and more expensive) places to stay in Springdale, and if you're the particular sort, you might consider it worth the extra $25 or so per night. If not, by all means, this is not a bad place to stay around Zion NP... it all looks the same with the lights out, right?
