“Right By Old Faithful”

The location cannot be beat as all cabins are a short distance from Old Faithful with some overlooking the Firehole River.

Even though we had made a reservation in January, we could not get one of the cabins with a private bathroom. The public facilities were close by, though, and very clean -- we did not encounter any waits. Our cabin was fully detached -- small, older and quite modest but with a high ceiling (it was not claustrophobic) and an oudoor stoop to sit on and enjoy the fresh Yellowstone night air. We had dinner in the cafeteria which was reasonably priced and overlooked Old Faithful. In fact, we were so close that we saw several eruptions.

In short, not luxury accommodation but location is everything!

Cute cabin with all what in a cabin should be. Not a luxus suite but a cabin has to be not luxury.
It was all clean.

“Comfortable even in adverse weather”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Stayed 2 nights in May 2011 in cabin with ensuite. Heavy snowfalls and power outages (extended) were overcome by the friendly staff. Cabins were adequate for National park, Lodge facilities also good. Cafeteria provides cheap high volume food; for higher class eating and facilities look elsewhere (to the Old Faithful Inn for example)

“Old Faithful Cabins (without restroom)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We stayed two nights in one of the cabins without a restroom - there was a sink, desk and two beds. The accommodations are simple and just what you need - since you are there to sightsee and experience the park there is no need for TV, couches, etc. The restroom building was within easy walking distance. It was very clean and well maintained. Even though we were told the cabins were sold out there were never any lines for the showers or the restrooms. Water pressure and temperature were perfect. This is a good compromise between a motel room and camping - especially when the night temperatures drop down to near freezing. The cabins are within walking distance of Old Faithful and many different geyser trails. We would stay there again.

“Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

We stayed in the cabins for one night at the beginning of September. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a very nice lady on Reception, who confirmed that (as a party of 3) we had been allocated adjoining cabins as requested. She even lent us a flashlight to navigate around the area after dark. Our cabins were perfectly adequate for our one night stay. Our room was just about big enough to take all our bags (3 large and 2 small) and was clean and quiet. The bed was small but comfortable and the shower was the best pressure we had throughout our 2 1/2 week road trip. It was lovely to be so close to Old Faithful and the other geysers. We enjoyed looking around the giftshop which was very reasonably priced. We had dinner in the Old Faithful Inn, which after having read other reviews I wasn't really expecting great things from. The inn is lovely and dining room is very nice, but the food wasn't great. However, the staff were very professional and our issues were dealt with very well. Breakfast the next morning was nice and reasonably priced. If you are visiting Yellowstone, then I'd spend at least one night in the park and all in all I'd say the cabins are a good option for a short-stay, although not the best value for money compared to other accommodation we had during our trip. Would stay there again.
