I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Tyson's Corner on the night of Feb. 11, one of several stays there in the past few years. The location is convenient to Tyson's Corner Mall and Tyson's Galleria, but not close enough to walk. If you don't have a car, there is free shuttle service to the mall. I usually just park on the street instead of paying $5 to park in the underground garage. This hotel is always clean and I feel safe there as a female traveling alone. Internet access is free, and the room features a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. The front desk staff is helpful, too. On a recent stay, I asked for the location of a nearby drugstore, and the staff person printed out Mapquest directions for me. I ate at the breakfast buffet ($11.95) for the first time on this trip. It was a typical hotel buffet, nothing special, but there was a wide variety of food and was filling. The hotel rates are often quite good for weekend stays. Overall, this is a well-managed and clean hotel, and its staff is attentive to guest's needs.
