“Stuck in the 80s”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past ten years, usually when the Hilton is booked. I have never had issues with cleanness and service; however, I always feel just so-so when I stay here. The biggest problem with this hotel is that it is outdated. The decor is right out of the 80s. You can get wireless, for $10 a day or if you reach a certain level in their gold passport program. As others have said, the heaters in the rooms are loud. TVs are the older cathode ray tubes that have locks on them, which always strikes me funny because this is supposed to be a nicer hotel, it's not like it is a Motel 6 or Econolodge! I think this hotel could be a gem, with its prime location in the city and the fact that shopping is right at your doorstep.

Room Tip: See if any corner rooms are available, those rooms a bit larger.

“DO not stay here”

Hyatt Downtown Cincinnati, worst stay EVER! After checking in, got on elevator that stalled and would not operate. Finally found my room, room was clean and nice. But then when I went to log onto Internet, I was told I had to pay $9.95 for a connection. Really? In this day and age, paying for the internet service? OK, cannot check email, so I thought I would relax in hot tub before heading ou...t. Hot tub was not hot and the jets were not working. So went back to room and out for evening. Went to hotel lounge after evening activities, and waitress came up to my husband and took his glass and said, " I want to go home", there was still 10 minutes to closing. Went to room had a good nights sleep. Woke up and went to take shower so I could go to brunch and there was no hot water. Seriously?? So as we checked out, we told staff, and she nonchalantly said,:Yes, we know engineering is working on it." No apology, no anything. We skipped brunch and headed out. Disappointing for a Hyatt. Mark my words, will NEVER stay with this company again.

I do appreciate your taking the time to provide this feedback. We need to know what our guests think of their experience, so we can work to improve the services we provide. The service you received in the restaurant, as well as the elevator and hot tub issues you described, are definitely not acceptable and have been addressed accordingly by management. I sincerely apologize for your experience, as it is not indicative of our usual standards of excellence in quality and guest service.

We look forward to an opportunity to exceed your expectations on a future visit. Please feel free to contact me directly and I would be happy to ensure that your next stay is a memorable one.

Thank you

“Disappointing considering it is the Hyatt”

Noisy heaters, rough and bleach smelling towels. Just not impressed with this Hyatt. Lots of street noise on top of the heat kicking on and off all night. Close to convention center, Macys. Connected to a run down mall with few stores open. Square was interesting with restaurants and outdoor ice skating rink. Would choose another hotel next time.

“Not as good as you would expect”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This hotel falls short in so many catagories... Spent three nights there for a convention. First morning,.... no hot water and no water pressure. And they offered NOTHING. Didn;t comp a thing. Not even a free drink at the hotel. All we got was a note slipped under our door tellin us they were working on the prob. The front desk staff was incompetent. There were billing issues they took all three days to solve. The valet service complained because I wanted to unload my luggage out front ( the only place to pull off the road ). The bathroom was TINY. The TV was Crappy. The food at the hotel was just okay... but way over priced. The beer selection was minimal. The hotel just had a old dirty appearance at every level. Not the kind of place I have come to expect from Hyatt's.

Room Tip: Choose the Milenium hotel across the street or the Hilton right next door.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen mehcanical issue, there was a temporary water outage that impacted your stay. I regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. Clearly we were not performing to our usual standards and for that I sincerely apologize. I have reviewed your feedback in detail with our managment team in an effort to prevent a similar occurrence in the future.

If you would like to discuss your stay further, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

“This Hyatt is a nightmare!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This hotel was a disaster from start to finish. The lack of customer service in this establishment is evident in every department. We had booked numerous rooms for a wedding. When we arrived for a promised and confirmed early check in we were told there were no rooms and we would have to wait for 3 hours. Rooms were also promised on the same floor...didn't happen. Charges were posted to the incorrect credit cards. There were not enough valets available so it took almost an hour to have your car brought around. Guests almost missed the wedding ceremony. Breakfast service in the restaurant was incredibly poor even though they were not busy. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Servers offered every excuse from "the computer is broken"; "they lost your order"; "someone went on break"...etc. etc. One guest never did receive their meal. When the food did arrive it had been burned and then left to grow cold before being brought to the table. Rooms are very small and in need of updating. Management was totally unresponsive to our complaints. The only positive for this hotel is its location in downtown Cincinnati. Will not return to this Hyatt as much better lodging options are available in Cincy. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

Room Tip: Choose a room at a different hotel!
