We NEVER need to stay here again. Had we not prepaid, we would have left and found a different hotel.
Upon arrival (which was around midnight, mind you), the entire lobby and common area was overrun by some kind of child-aged and teenaged group of travelers. They were pretty much unsupervised and, despite numerous complaints from many guests, management did nothing to rein in these unruly kids. The desk clerk was so frazzled that check-in took at least 15-20 minutes, which was not acceptable for a prepaid, pre-booked reservation.
Our first room was on the third floor, which was full of even more unsupervised minors, who were running in and out of each other's rooms. There were bags of trash and dirty clothes/towels everywhere. Despite our request for a non-smoking room, the first room (337, I believe) reeked of smoke. Between that and the noise, we asked to be moved. To their credit, Baymont was very accomodating about this, and it was accomplished with minimal drama.
Our second room was on the first floor (also littered with dirty laundry and garbage). It was was much quieter, but still smelled faintly of smoke. The room was very dated and dirty (e.g. there were dust bunnies, the tiles and grout needed a thorough scrub-down). Towels were thin and threadbare and when we requested a fourth bath towel (we paid for four people), we were given a pool towel. The beds themselves were rickety and uncomfortable, complete with scratchy sheets and worn blankets.
In the morning, breakfast was overrun with even MORE unruly kids, and breakfast options were mediocre, at best (there were no healthy, nutiritous options, but rather something like Fruit Loops and Corn Flakes).
Upon several occasions that morning, I tried to speak to someone at the front desk, but there were times when there wasn't even a clerk at the desk, much less a manager. I was told I could call the manager after 11:30. When I did so on a couple of occasions, he was unavailable (I seriously wondered if there even WAS a manager) and I only just got a message from him.
This experience was uncharacteristic of any other Baymont Inn where I've stayed. Run, do not walk, away from booking this hotel.
Room Tip: Stay away from the third floor. And the first floor.
