Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice hotel, but I was very dissapointed when I learnt that breakfast was not provided. I have stayed in dozens of BW and I guess I didn't read the fine print, but it was a surprise to learn that there was no breakfast especially considering what we paid for the room.
There also isn't a microwave in the room. There is a loud flushing toilet though, and my favorite "coffee maker in the bathroom" Come on... for such a classy hotel, is there no better place, I would bet that the owner of this property does not serve the guests in his home from a coffee maker that he keeps in his bathroom. There is a small fridge built into wall – but guess what, it has no freezer. We could hear ppl walking in room overhead but overall I would rate this as a quiet hotel.
It is a lovely, elegant historic motel, in a nice area of Cincinnati.
There is a Tempurpedic mattress on the bed– which surprisingly we found uncomfortable. There is a chair with an ottoman and end table, a fireplace, a closet with a door. There is lots of lighting. The computer desk slides out from under another desk/table. There is a long low dresser nice for putting suitcases on. The bathroom has separate switches for the lighting and the fan. There is a HUGE glassed in shower with 2 shower heads (one overhead) You need to read the instructions though which intimidated us from trying it. I mean if it just that complicated to operate that you have to provide instructions.. well we were just too tired after driving 10 hours to figure it out. There is a large flat screen TV on the wall behind a picture which rolls up with the touch of a button.
There is an elegant restaurant and a pub on site which we enjoyed, the meal was delicious and reasonably priced. We will stay here again next time in Cincinnati.
Room Tip: Get a top floor room unless you like people walking on your head while you try to get to sleep.

Please let me start by apologizing for any inconvenience you might have experienced at the Inn. I am glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and would come back again. We have added a new rate plan for 2012 that does include breakfast with that new rate. Your review is absolutely correct; there were tradeoffs made when we renovated our historic Inn. Our guestroom refrigerators use a technology called absorption refrigeration where it uses a heat source to drive its cooling system. What this means to our guests is they will not hear a compressor running throughout the night, creating a quieter experience. But not having a freezer was the tradeoff. We do have a freezer available at the front desk for guests who have freezer items during their stay. There is also a microwave available in our vending room for guests to use any time. Locating the coffeemaker in the bathroom was another decision we made because it is the only area of the guestroom that has a tile floor and solid surface countertop. This prevents our carpets from being stained with coffee spills, the wood tabletops in the guestroom from being damaged, and has the easiest accessible electrical outlets as well as a water source. It was another tradeoff we had to make since we did not have the space for kitchenettes in the guestrooms and we felt we still should provide a coffeemaker. You are correct; I wouldn’t serve coffee out of my bathroom at my home. That’s why I’ve tried to setup other coffee options such as complimentary fresh brewed coffee every morning in the lobby, access to fresh brewed coffee via room service or in our restaurant, and even having a Starbucks next door for the devoted coffee fans. Also during the renovation we poured a layer of special soundproofing concrete on top of the existing wood floor between the guestroom floors to minimize sound. It has worked very well but I understand it does not completely stop all sounds. Your Room Tip is a very good one for any hotel! Requesting the top floors of a hotel usually means a quieter stay from noises both inside the hotel as well as from the outside (mostly with the bigger downtown hotels that have street traffic). I do want you to know I appreciate your review and I really do hope you will stay with us again the next time you are in the city. Please feel free to call me with any other thoughts or concerns you have. Happy Travels!
