“unuseable internet”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2007

My problems with this Country Inn & Suites were these: 1) their wireless internet was so unbelievably slow that it was unuseable, 2) shower was just not enough pressure for a person to wash their hair, 3) showerhead was so high that I couldn't reach it to re-direct it - I'm 5'3" so really it was unusually high, 4) the complimentary breakfast had nothing appealing to eat, 5) they had some Otis Spunkmeyer cookies on the front counter when you check in. They were hard, not soft. Now the scary part is the next morning, they were still on the counter - as a result, I'm worried about how long the one I had eaten had been sitting out when I checked in the night before. Plus side: 1) The bed was comfortable, 2) lots of television channels to choose from, 3) the bathroom countertops are nice and long, 4) there is a heat-lamp in the bathroom which adds great lighting plus is nice to have.

“Fine, Clean Room for the Money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2007

We walked in with a coupon and got a nice room for $69.00. The room was large with a king bed and a large desk. However the chair was so low, I found myself standing to type on my laptop keyboard.. The bathroom was surprisingly large, with a long vanity. It was clean and the shower had average water pressure. Standard breakfast buffet with pastries and cereal, along with waffles that you cook yourself. My only complaint was with the sheets on the bed. There was a fitted sheet, but it was too small for the bed. My husband is a tosser at night and the sheet was completely undone on one corner. It also had the old-fashioned mattress pad, flat with elastic bands on the corner. Very prone to shifting and bunching. But the pillows were great!

“best hotel stay in cincinnati”

It was the cleanest hotel i have seen in years , the staff was friendly and professional. They had printed cards with directions and a map to all surrounding restraunts and attractions plus a envolope ready for us with there broucher's. we had to change our arrangements and they where helpful and worked out the best deal for us that saved us about $45.00 . The room was very clean even the refridgorater, the hide-a-bed had nothing hiden in it like some other hotels. The pool area was wonderful the right air tempeture and water temp, plenty of towels very clean no calcium spots around it, the hot tub did not feel oiley when you got out or scum looking when it was on (like the $200.00 a night hotel downtown was). They kept a varitey of cookies at the front desk kinda of a sweet touch, the breakfast was wonderful and a nice clean area with a wide range to choose from , fresh fruit ,sausge biscuts, cereal, waffles and more. We where running late at check out time and they where very pleasent about it and non-threating like some hotels. I will stay hear every time i go to Cincinnati and highly recamend it to others.

  • Liked — the hotels Cleanliness and friendly staff
  • Disliked — you have to get back on the highway to do any thing but they where very helpful about this

“awful service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2006

The people at the desk were horrible. We had booked a block of rooms here for my wedding, and if we got 10 rooms or nights booked then my husband and I would get our suite for free. And when I booked with them, I wanted the suite for the night before and the night of. They some how got that confused and gave me the night of and the night after. Fortunately they had a room open, but were not very gracious about the fact that we had brought in a lot of business. In fact they didn't even admit that we got our 10 rooms, so I had to pay the full bill. They never gave a confirmation number or asked for a credit card. And the bottle of wine that they promise is the cheapest white zin, you can find at wal-mart. I wonder if they realized that I spent over $300 there, the least they could do is give me a $10 bottle of champagne. And when my sister tried to give the wedding guest a care package to be put in their rooms they refused, saying that they don't do that. I have no love that company. In fact I slipped while walking down their steps, in my wedding dress, and they didn't even look up from the desk until my photographer said something about a lawsuit.

“Sub-Par Property”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2006

When we arrived at the hotel, everything appeared to be in order. We reserved three rooms close together and they did give us three non-smoking rooms close together. That's not the reason I gave them a two. First off, the hallways are easily the smokiest hotel hallways I have ever encountered. The same goes for the elevators.
I don't mean I smelled smoke once, I would compare the hallways to a moderately smoky bar. Just to let you know, I'm not an old lady who goes crazy at the first sign of smoke, I'm 31 and used to smoke, so it has to be pretty bad to bother me. Once the elevator was so bad that one lady in our party with a newborn had to take the stairs!

Secondly, the air was totally turned off in two of our three rooms upon arrival. It has been in the mid 90's all week and I would say the rooms were in the 90's. We had to go out and give the rooms time to cool down when because the rooms were totally unbearable.

The overall impression I got from the Country Inn and Suites is that the owners won't put one extra dime into the place. It's been a long time since I've seen the window controlled air conditioners.
