“Made my training better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My training wasn't as great as I thought it would be so it was very nice to come back to a clean room, very nice staff, and SUPER comfy bed!! Their van service to/from the training was convenient and they worked with our large group and training times. Room service was prompt and good. Printed our boarding passes easily. Little convenience store with water, snacks, etc. Overall a great stay! Tip: AVOID the restaurant Olives! Terrible food and service!

Room Tip: 8th floor is quiet!

“Quite All Right”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My family and I arrived here after an unexpectedly heavy snowstorm turned a 4 hour drive into 7. I thought we were off to a really bad start when the desk clerk asked me if we would be willing to switch to a different hotel nearby, since this one was overbooked. He offered that Marriott would pay for our night at the other hotel. It was already late, and we had to be up early the next morning, so I told him that didn’t sound at all interesting. He made it clear that the originally-booked accommodations were available and ready if we didn’t want to switch...the request was wholly voluntary. We stayed.
I noticed that more than one college basketball team seemed to be staying there, and inquired about that. Understanding my concern, the desk clerk explained that the teams had to sign a “noise waiver:” after 1 complaint they would be ejected. I felt better.
We had requested extra towels – they were there. Room was pleasant and comfortable.
We ordered room service breakfast: it came exactly on time, the price was quite reasonable, and the service pleasant. One suggestion here: there are 2 different room service menus: one that you hang on the door, which is only for breakfast, and the other which includes everything they offer. You can order breakfast from either menu, but there are breakfast items on the full menu which don’t appear on the “hanger menu”and some of the prices are lower on the full menu. Breakfast in the restaurant the second morning of our stay was pleasant, and the staff was cheery.
The garage was conveniently located under the hotel, easy in and out, and only $10 a night, as opposed to a lot of similar hotels which charge $20.
Wi-fi connections were extremely fast and easy.
One thing to keep in mind: depending on what part of the university you're headed to and what you're accustomed to, this is probably not walking distance unless it’s a nice day and you want to take a long stroll. If the weather’s bad, as in rain, snow or cold, you should probably plan to drive and look for parking in the one of the university garages.

“Nice property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I recently stayed at the Marriott Kingsgate for a business meeting. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I stayed in room 702, a corner room far away from elevators, which was great. The only issue I had with the property is finding it. The signage is not great and the driveway to the front desk area is tucked away. The conference facilities were quiet nice, although our meeting room was quite chilly. The food provided during the sessions was above average.

“Excellent stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

I spent a night at the Marriott Kingsgate in Cincinnati in December 2011, and was very pleased with the overall experience. Check-in was easy, and the check-in staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The property overall is very large, as it is a conference centre with hotel attached to it. The rooms seemed pretty new, and were very clean. The beds were very comfortable and well made. The only issue was that we had a connecting room, and the TV next door could be clearly heard through the door until after midnight.

Overall, however, this was a great option for a one night stay in Cincinnati.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without a connecting door.

“Great Staff. Great room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Full disclosure: This was a free stay. Had a gift certificate for a one night stay with breakfast for 2 so chose to use it for University of Cincinnati's last home football game.
Arrived around 9am on Sat Dec 3 and were actually able to drop off our stuff and check out our room. Front desk staff very helpful & friendly. Room was unbelievably clean. Almost like no one had ever even stayed in it before us. Went back down and caught the shuttle to the game. Easy drop off and return to hotel after the game. Went to the Bearcat Lounge for a bite to eat. Had the Marriott Burger w/fries. I think it was around $12. Hubby had a couple of beers and I had a Knob Creek. Service was also very good & friendly here. Didn't hear anything in our room from the adjoining rooms but when you are in the hallway you can hear everyone's conversations. Very strange. Bed was OK. Pillows were horrible. Around 3:30am Sunday morning the power went out. I would have slept through it but my husband uses a CPap machine so he noticed it right away. We finally decided to make our way downstairs around 6:30am. The elevators were running off of a generator. Turns out the entire east side of the campus was without power. They did somehow manage to get some coffee and we could also select a cold drink or snack from the little gift shop area. No free breakfast for us:( Most people seemed to take this all in stride but other people probably should just not travel if they can't cope with something as minor as a power outage. The front desk handled this as well as they could under the circumstances. They had flashlights available and they did get the bar at the parking garage exit up so you could leave.
