Arrived on Saturday evening, July 7. First use of bathroom, noticed toilet seat had a major crack. No problem, until one sits on that seat... ouch, I was afraid it was going to draw blood! That night, advised desk clerk I needed the seat replaced, and he indicated "maintenance" would take care of it, possibly that evening. Staff member showed up that night with unasked-for sheets, looked bewildered when I mentioned the pain-inducing seat. He indicated "maintenance" will take care of it the next day (Sunday). Sunday evening, advised same desk clerk as Sat. that toilet seat still not fixed, and he said for sure by Monday. I gave up on this one... left Saturday July 14, still no action on that seat. Other items: no chair in room, asked desk clerk on Mon. July 9 for one, and he said not a problem. Again, no action. No phone book in room (at this point, didn't bother asking for action). Room not made up 2 of the 7 days there (at this point, didn't bother complaining; sheets weren't exactly clean-looking to begin with... a little bleach by the laundry service might have been helpful). Finally, I had reserved the room for 7 nights by major credit card, but above desk clerk upon my arrival insisted upon full 7-night payment then and there... a little unusual for a U.S. motel, I think, but in hindsight, it makes sense for this outfit. The 3rd World treatment was definitely not expected.
