A lovely large old home situated close to Whitman College and not that far from downtown.
We spent a lovely visit here over the Father's day weekend. Our room was the Idlewild, a very comfortable and spacious room with a large sitting area and an outdoor deck as well. Very classy furnishings and homey space, and the balcony would be greatly appreciated if it hadn't rained so hard.
We were delighted and completely surprised by the terrific breakfast feast prepared for us for Father's Day brunch (included with the cost of the room). We had the terrific Walla Walla sweet onion pie (a sort of quiche stuffed with the local favorite), with a great assortment of fresh baked pastries, chocolated dipped strawberries, etc. etc. It was a feast, prepared by a fascinating young lady (who won the Demolition Derby in Dayton the night before).
Cudos to Alexis, the new owner, for her attentiveness and for running a first class establishment. We'll be back when we're in Walla Walla.
