“Cozy and romantic”

My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages here a few years ago and absolutely LOVED this place. We are originally from the Walla Walla area, and it was really fun to experience it as a visitor. A basket full of breakfast items was delivered each morning we were there. The cottage had an antique feel to it, yet had a very modern kitchen and electronics. This Inn is located out of the main part of town in the beautiful rolling hills by Mill Creek. I loved our experience here and would definitely love to go again.

“Peace and luxury in Walla Walla”

My husband and I stayed at Abeja with another couple recently. We stayed in the Carriage House, which has 2 full bedrooms with bathrooms and a nice living/dining/kitchen area. We had an amazing time! The grounds are impeccable and beautiful restored. The breakfast every morning is amazing. The service is wonderful. The wine tasting is some of the best in Walla Walla. I'd definitely go back to Abeja again.

“Abeja is Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

We've been to Abeja twice now (two years in a row). Part of me is reluctant to effuse over the place because it's truly a gem that I don't want too many people to know about or spoil, but they are so deserving of the praise bestowed upon them that you really only want them to succeed, and then some.

Abeja is our sanctuary. It's serene and idyllic. No detail has been overlooked. The craftsmanship of the facilities is outstanding. And as every independent inn or B&B should be, each room is unique with it's own special touches. Think of the finest hotels in the world you've ever stayed in, and Abeja can compete with the best of them for quality, but with none of the pretense. Think outside the box -- want to enjoy their surroundings and not head into town for dinner? Ask for your own grill, buy some great groceries in any of the fine food establishments, and DIY your meal. Looking for a cool place to hang out and a mixologist in the middle of wheat fields? Mary the innkeeper sent us to the Jim German bar in Waitsburg, 20 minutes away. You'd be surprised at this place's existence let alone the excellence of its drinks. And so on, and so on.

Don't just stay in Abeja for its wines -- which are superb -- stay at Abeja because you really want to feel like you're away from it all. You will NOT be disappointed!

“Our favorite place to go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We have been to Abeja five times and have enjoyed each, but I have to say this stay was our best. We stayed in their new Edison house room and it is so nice and romantic, with a beautiful sitting area overlooking their stream. Your visit starts with a glass of their amazing wine during check in. Such a nice way to start a visit to Washington wine country. Each of their rooms are unique separate cabins with their own personalities. We have stayed in the "Summer Kitchen" in the past and liked it, but have to say that the clawfoot tub/shower is a bit slippery and not our favorite. Our friends have stayed in the "Chicken coop" and it is nice. I hate telling everyone this since you will probably book it and we won't be able to get in, but the "Edison House" is by far the best yet.

One perk you can't overlook is that when you stay at Abeja, you are able to do a detailed wine tasting. Molly, the wine maker's wife, is very knowledgable and every time I have been here I feel I learn something new. The wine tasting is not open to the public and is definitely worth it.

I noticed on past review that some have thought the service "snobby". I think a couple of years ago they had a guy who was the head guy who wasn't as friendly and may have come across that way. Now Mary checks you in and she is so friendly and helpful. She is also the chef and cooks amazing full breakfasts each morning. We are gluten free and she went out of her way to create an entire new recipe for pancakes so that we could enjoy the breakfast. They were great!! Also, the first day she made a smoked salmon hash that was one of the best things I had ever eaten.

Walla Walla is such a wonderful little town with amazing wineries and good restaurants. If you love wine, it is a destination worth checking out, and Abeja is certainly the place to stay!

Room Tip: Edison House is sooo romantic
