A somewhat late review, but it was such a great couple of days, the memory is very clear. We had two nights at the Belle in May last year enroute to Mexico. Mary was very helpful with information prior to our arrival, and throughout our stay. She was a wonderful hostess. We stayed in the large Josephine room which like all of the house is very beautiful - loved the double-basin bathroom! The tour of the house and it's history was really interesting, and we found some lovely local crafts in the Belle Boutique to bring home for gifts. Mary's breakfasts were delicious and hearty, and so nice to share anecdotes and travel stories with Mary and the other guests - really enhanced our experience, great fun. Yes the train does announce itself in the wee hours, but I think most of Vicksburg would hear that horn! Didn't bother us particularly. Thoroughly recommend it! We hope to return to the south one day for a Blues trail, and we would certainly be staying at Belle of the Bends again.
