“wonderful place”

This is an excellent place for a very inexpensive price. Our room was on the top floor, We never slept in always walked to one of the inexpensive restaurants within one block. We were one block from the ocean with beautiful sand beaches and nice sailboat ride. The girl downstairs was always helpful. Although it has the potential to be noisy it really wasn't. It is an older place. Nice little balcony. The room has air conditioning which works well and quietly. My wife and I really enjoyed this place.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which meant we walked up one from the elevators last stop. We would book h...

“Great budget hotel!”

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 8 days in January 2012 and it was great! Awesome location, you are 3 minutes from the beach and right in the middle of Waikiki near the Duke statue. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean. We had a couple of bugs in our room but the balcony door was left open a lot so that probably had something to do with it! With some simple updates (new bedding and pillows mainly) we would have no complaints. We had a kitchenette in our room and saved a ton by buying snacks at the food land in the ala moana shopping center (go there if you can - much cheaper than IN waikiki) we had a place to make coffee, bagels, and had a rice maker - though we didn't touch it. The mini fridge was perfect, great to keep some extra beers and drinks! Seriously, if you need a place to sleep, keep your belongings, and shower this is it! I never felt unsafe and Ashley at the front desk is super nice! She called a shuttle for us the night of the pro bowl pre-party to the airport which was very helpful!

Room Tip: I would guess rooms on the 6th floor have a better "view" but I could just walk 3 minutes...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

have always loved staying here but since last yr a car and motorcycle rental has opened. Too noisy if you want to sleep in. Also late nite. Had loud dumpster empting at Hotel across street. Other than that, everything still great. Cheap and close to the beach. Have already made reservations for next yr

“Nice price”

For the price you can't beat it in Waikiki. It's not a super luxurious place, but it's a place to rest your head at the end of a busy day. I wouldn't say it was "spotless" but for an older place it's not bad. I wanted to spend money on experiences this trip rather than an expensive hotel. It's within walking distance of most everything, and with the air conditioning on surprisingly quite with all the hustle and bustle going on around. The "Kitchenette" is a full small kitchen with stove, sink, refrigerator, and microwave. The staff was very nice and helpful. Jinroku the japanese resteraunt across the street is awesome! I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are on the 6th floor you will have a flight of stairs to climb as the elevator only goes to t...

“Good value but....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

There are a lot of good reviews about this hotel and it's value. I agree with some of the comments such as great location and staff. The girl at the front desk was exceptionally nice and made my stay enjoyable. What a difference staff makes (if only more accommodations would pay attention to this!). It is only a block away from the beach and practically next door to the Hyatt so you know it's in a good area. I stayed for one night and it was okay but truthfully I think there are better values out there that are cleaner and not as shabby. My unit was okay but I certainly wouldn't call it very clean or fresh! It did the job for my one night but if staying longer you could probably pay the same price for a nicer accommodation. I find that taking some time to search rates in Waikiki pays off big time in the end as there are usually some incredible deals. I only had a few days to book something so my time was limited. I wouldn't stay here again although it was okay in a pinch and pretty much what I expected for the price.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the inside. Not quite as noisy.
