“Okay hotel, terrible location.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Hotel was okay--fairly clean, but the rooms were somewhat oddly arranged, and the beds were uncomfortable. There also was no elevator, so if you can't do stairs that would be a problem. It was noisy outside, and we could hear a lot of activity above us. The worst thing was the location -- the area did not feel safe at all. There also was no safe in the room. We ended up cancelling our reservation and going somewhere else.

“Not the nicest beach hotel in Hawaii....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Reading some of the other reviews I agree, this is not the hotel you want to stay at in Hawaii. Just like another reviewer we wanted to have a hotel close to the airport as we only cared about the overnight stay and the ability to sleep. Problem for me was that is exactly what I didn't get.. sleep. As we had a room at the lower level, the neigbor upstairs had people over that continued making noise on an ad-hoc basis. Other than that, this neigbourhood is an "exotic dancers" area, and there are no decent restaurants around. Only nice thing is the shuttle bus that picks you up and drops you off at the airport. The price that I paid for this hotel is definitively not worth it.

“Not what i wanted to see on my last day in Hawaii”

We island hopped back to Honolulu for our last night. Not wanting to catch morning traffic and risk missing our early morning flight we opted to stay closer to the airport. Not what we wanted to be our last views of Hawaii. The location of this hotel is scary and depressing. Look carefully at their pictures and you'll notice they're none of the surrounding area. No restaurant, being renovated or closed, don't quite remember. Ate at a chinese restaurant across the road and got snacks, water at the gasoline station. Our room was cramped (barely enough room to walk around our full size bed). Pay only a few dollars more and get up a little earlier. You'll be glad you did. Shock still hasn't worn off yet.

“Hell on earth”

I realise airport neighborhoods aren't the greatest of areas. This place couldn't suit the very worst of characters. This section of honolulu makes Compton and Newark seem heavenly. You can't get a decent meal on-site. Management knew full well that thier restaurant was closed for most of the winter season, Referring guests to local greasy spoons that offer barbaric atrocities. They happily take your money knowing full well that there is no other choice. Insects and feral cats abound contributing to general filth and desease THe help doesn't seem to know any better and go mum when confronted about abhorrent conditions. I wouldn't stay there again if given a gift certificate. Choose anywhere else.

“Good price, clean rooms”

Our stay at Pacific Marina was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable and clean. Landscape and pool area was outstanding. The price was very reasonable. We will definitely stay at Pacific Marina on our next trip to Honolulu. The adjoining restaurant is presently closed for remodeling with the closest service 2 blocks. This was a problem but appears to be close to opening in Jan.2012. Service to Airport was prompt and less than 10 minutes.
