“Perfect Overnight Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We needed somewhere to sleep & breakup some long flights & the Ramada provided the perfect solution. Easy access, public transport right out front, ihop & dinner just down the street for a quick breakfast. The room was compact & basic but at the price we paid & for an overnight sleep - perfect. Easy walk to main strip, maybe 20mins (at kids pace) or sneak in across the road behind some of the other hotels & wander down along the beach.

“Clean, convenient, and courteous!”

We had two days at the end of a trip to Kauai to spend in Honolulu - my husband, myself and our son, his wife, and their infant. We chose this hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor and seeing the photographs posted there. I must say that the hotel is as represented in the photographs. It is close to a very nice beach and beach promenade, and just two blocks from Ala Moana Shopping Mall. Our room was fresh and clean and it had all the extra amenities we needed; i.e., refrigerator and microwave, free internet, and a nice TV. The beds were very good, and the linens were crisp and fresh. The management was extremely accommodating to us, as we arrived early from Kauai and they allowed us to check in when we got there, before 12:00! They arranged for us to have our rooms across from each other, which made it very easy for us to communicate. The rooms are not the largest hotel rooms I've seen, but they were adequate in size. The furniture was very nice. The pool area was nice, and my daughter-in-law took advantage of the laundry facilities provided. All-in-all, it was a very satisfactory experience and I would stay there again. Mahalo to the people at the Ramada Plaza. They gave us very good value for our dollars.

Room Tip: We were on the 16th floor, but neither of our rooms had an ocean view. I'm not sure there is any...

“Welcoming updated boutique-hotel a surprise from Ramada...”

Great boutique-like property. Courteous, efficient, friendly front desk staffer, James, a pleasure after long day and late check-in. Onsite fee parking convenient. Location excellent for bus access; considering staying again using their $9 airport shuttle and local bus instead of renting car. Short easy walk to numerous restaurants from $ to $$$$ within one block from lobby. Downstairs restaurant is all you can eat buffet BLD for <$8.00. Ala Moana or Waikiki beaches just a few more scenic blocks away. Our 16th floor room facing busy street was exceptionally clean and surprisingly quiet. Free wifi and computer station in lobby with printer handy for boarding pass. High recommend for business and/or vacation.

“So So....but for the price was pretty decent.”

I haven't been to Waikiki in about 20 years so I wasn't sure what to expect. We actually got stranded in HNL for 2 nights because airlines oversold airlines (we fly standby) and so this was a last minute deal for us from Hotwire.

The hotel is quite old but then again, most hotels and buildings in this area are so I'm not sure what I was expecting. The room was a good size and it had a safe and mini fridge which is a good feature. We were given a low level room with a terrible view of the back parking lot but to be honest, I didn't really care.

We did ask for a late check out due to the fact that my son wasn't feeling well and our flight didn't leave until 11 pm. We were 'allowed' to stay for an extra 2 hours until 2 pm.

The only think I didn't really like is that the room didn't have any 'on demand' movies. After a long day at the beach, it's nice to come back and order up a movie with the family and all relax in the evening.

The hotel does not have a restaurant on site so we ended up eating at a VERY overpriced IHOP next door.

For the $100 we paid, it was probably the best choice we could have found so all in all, it was fine.

Aloha!

I'm happy to learn that your experience here was a good one, and that you found our in-room safe and refrigerator a good value. And with many restaurants within walking distance, our location is really great. Hopefully, we may get to see you again soon in the near future! Thanks for staying with us!

“Nice hotel”

Good hotel, not groundbreaking, but clean and in good location for the price. The bus towards the downtown area is right outside, and it's a short walk across the street to the Waikiki beach buses. No restaurant really, but there's an IHOP or other restaurants nearby for breakfast etc. It is a bit quieter than right on the strip. We'd stay again.

Aloha!

Thanks for your review! We appreciate it very much. I'm glad you found our hotel to be quiet, as some of the other hotels on the "strip" can be quite loud. And with TheBus having stops right outside is very convenient. Our bus system has won awards as being very efficient. You can go almost anywhere on the island on TheBus.

Again, thanks for your comments and we hope to see you here again soon! Mahalo!
