I rate the Prince 3.5 stars. But we got it through Hotwire so we did not pay too much. Herpichs review has it spot on. Our room had a distinctive mildew odor which I find unacceptable in a 4-star property and indicates poor A/C maintenance. Also the room furniture and carpet needed replacement to be a 4-star property. Staff excellent..

This hotel offers ocean view to everyone because the hotel was built with every room facing the ocean. The difference then becomes in high how up you stay. The hotel staff are so friendly and warm when you check in, they have great restaurants, and a great location.

It is walking distance to downtown, and to Magic Island. Go one way and you get the hustle and bustle, the other way you get quiet and peace, with great views of Diamond Head.

They are voted the Favorite Hotel consistently by the locals who like to go and celebrate their special dates such as birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, which to me says a lot. They still keep the island feel that some other bigger hotels may have lost being a large chain.

I have seen reviews stating "lovely older hotel" but it didn't feel like an older hotel to me. It is very luxurious and definitely well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we loved having the shuttle to take us to Waikiki and back. The hotel is about a mile from Waikiki proper, but I liked the quieter, less busy location.
We were fortunate enough to have a room on the ocean-side and the view was fantastic! The first morning that I looked outside my window I had my breath taken away! The windows could open, so we were able to bring in the wonderful fresh Hawaiian breeze right into our room!

Lovely older hotel. Great service. Great location. No private beach, but great access to plenty of public beaches. Outstanding views of the marina. Huge bathrooms. And...the windows actually open. One complaint: the coffee at the lobby cafe was absolutely terrible.
