My Husband and I stayed here Jan. 25 to Feb. 2, 2012. It is not a new hotel but has been renovated. We totally enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and was very helpfull and knowledgeable when we asked for direction. Our room was clean and tidy with a balcony facing the Ala Wai Canal. It is in walking distance to the Waikiki Beach, the honolulu zoo and if you go to the beach the hotel also has towels they let you take to the beach. Since one is right on the Ala Wai Blvd there is traffic noise which didn't bother us but if one is light sleeper you should get a room facing away from the canal, but the view is much nicer on the canal side then the buildings on the other side. The big plus about this hotel is that they serve breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30. They serve waffles, sausage and scrambled eggs, pastries, muffins, fresh pineapple and 3 different types of juices. The coffee is brewed all day so it is kind of nice when one comes home in the evening to take a coffee up to your room. The only negative about the food is that the heated food is not hot enough.
The hotel also has 4 computers with a printer for you to use which is kind nice as one can pre-check in your flight and print your boarding passes. We never used their pool but they do have a small pool and it is small.
