“Very happy with our stay”

I did lots of research online before picking a hotel for our first trip to Hawaii. This hotel seemed to have the best balance of value, location, and positive reviews of any in our price range. Our stay was even better than we expected. We were there for our first anniversary and I had contacted the hotel GM prior to arrival. He was nice enough to upgrade us to an available room with an amazing view and even had a bottle of wine on ice for us at the time of our arrival. Thank you Mr. Vergara!

We loved the balcony and used it every day to sit and relax and enjoy the warm evenings. The beds and pillows were probably the most comfortable of any hotel that my wife and I can remember. We really did sleep well. The location is great. There is so much to do in such a close proximity even if the beach (which is 1 block away) isn't tops on your list.

We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask about availability of an upgraded room with a view. If they have one available, they would cert...

“An adequate hotel in an excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I stayed five nights at the Waikiki Beach Resort. My quiet room on the fourth floor had two double beds, a telephone, a television with many satellite channels, a safe, a refrigerator, a closet with adequate hangers, and a balcony with a small table and two chairs. The bathroom was clean and had a shower, but it had no bathtub. There was adequate shampoo, body lotion and bar soap.
The hotel is well located only one block from Waikiki Beach. The lobby has no door; it is open to the street, which causes the lobby to be very noisy from the motor traffic (especially busses) that pass by frequently. There was free WiFi but only in the lobby; there were few places to sit there.
The breakfast buffet was satisfactory, but it costs $15 per but person, which I thought was too expensive.

“great location and value”

I am a travel agent and was escorting a group that stayed here a few days before our cruise on Norwegian's Pride of America. We were one block from the beach, and with the oceanview rooms, you could watch the surfers on Waikiki Beach from our balcony. Although the rooms are rather small, they were clean and the bed were very comfortable.
Check in was the easiest I've ever experienced, and the employees were all top rate--friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable.
They even have a self service laundry on the lower floor, which was also very handy.

“Great Location & Value”

I am a frequent traveler to Honolulu due to business and have stayed at several hotels in the Waikiki area. By far this hotel was the best in this price range. I found the front desk staff helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, and an excellent location one block off of the beach. What was even more of a surprise is the availability of parking included with your room which is a premium in Waikiki. Though the rooms were a bit on the smaller side, they are comparable to most in the area. The biggest drawback is the bath configuration being a bit awkward to move around with the location of the door, shower and toilet. Other than this minor inconvenience, this is an excellent location for a business traveler, and a short walk to the beach or fast food restaurant for coffee in the early morning. Without a doubt I will stay again on my next business trip.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that does not face Koa. Heavy bus and truck traffic making a lot of noise.

“My favorite hotel”

Every time I am on O'ahu, I stay at Waikiki Resort. The employees are friendly, helpful, and savvy; parking uncomplicated; business center, laundry room, and Internet access is available. There is a great cafe and sushi/bar lounge downstairs, spa, and pool. The rooms are large and have kitchenettes- microwave, fridge, sink, dishes, and utensils. The hotel is situated half a city block from the main boulevard and the beach on a street not crowded by tourists.
