“Really good for the price”

I decided to stay at the Park Shore after trawling TA (thanks so much for all the wonderful info on here!). I got a really cheap price by using the TA hotel price search. This hotel is right across from Waikiki Beach, and down near Diamond Head. I was concerned before I arrived that I might be too far out, but was amazed how quick and easy it is to walk down to the main part of Waikiki (and I am not fit). There is the requisite ABC store and a Starbucks downstairs. A lot of tours, plus the Waikiki Trolley, depart from the hotel next door which makes it very simple.
I did not expect a fancy room for the price, and I was right. It was neat and clean and I wasn't in Hawaii to spend all day in a room.

The staff at reception are very friendly and I was thrilled to arrive at 8:30am and be able to go straight to my room and have a shower and quick nap, wonderful!

I would definitely go back to the Park Shore Hotel.

Room Tip: I would request an ocean view room as my lanai overlooked the bins. Rooms near the 2nd floor could b...

“Love the relative quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Stayed for a week on the 4th floor, one above the pool, and could easily have stayed longer. Have stayed at 5 star at other end of town and also in midtown. This is far better location and fantastically improved night noise wise. Pool setting is serene, plenty of seating, sunny all day. Ordered a standard room and used their offered "standby for upgrade" option (no upfront cost). Upgraded to partial ocean view at check in for $6/night. This room category gives a great unobstructed view of the ocean and corner of the park, over the pool. Only drawback is the closeness of the neighboring balcony (picture a 90 degree angle). Far, far superior to a city view room, so don't go that cheap. The hotel is on the last intersecting road to the main strip. Busy with bus and other traffic during the day but so pleasant in the evening and night, quiet and serene view. The room is smaller than others we've stayed in, but functional and well equipped. We were told our hotel section is due to be closed in a few months for renovation. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: City views would be noisy all night and the view non existent due to other buildings. Partial ocean...

“Great location, clean comfortable rooms.”

Excellent location especially if you have ocean views as we did. Rooms were clean and comfortable, beds, fridge and bathroom, basic but that's all we really need. Across the road from the zoo and the beach. And there was always a lounge chair available by the pool which overlooks the beach. Our only issue was the free wifi in the lobby was slow and sometimes didn't work, however Starbucks next door offers free wifi, and one night during our stay the live music at Lulu's (open til 2am daily) downstairs was quite loud, it didn't bother me, but for those wanting an early night, you'd want to be a deep sleeper.

“Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We actually checked out of another hotel to move to the Park Shore where our friends were staying. The rooms were a tad on the small side but the decor, service, and location were so much better. My children are not big fans on playing in the sand or swimming in the ocean, so by having the pool overlook the ocean, I did not feel like I was missing out at all! It is right next to the zoo and it is basically ocean front....just separated by a road! There was a street parade that went by and it was such a highlight! I really liked this hotel and would stay there again when we go back.

“Great hotel, perfect location”

This hotel is a really great place, especially for the price. The room was pretty standard and clean with friendly helpful staff and the location is perfect, slightly away from the main bit of Waikiki but close to the beautiful Diamond Head. I'd highly recommend it.
