We stayed here during a stopover on our flight from New York to Australia. Not our first time to Hawaii but our first time at this hotel. The hotel has both good and bad points but overall it is a great place to stay. First the good: Room size - had an ocean view room on 23rd floor - view of the beach can't be beaten and the balcony is generous - great place to have breakfast or just relax with a drink to watch the ocean. The room itself had a marvellous armchair for watching TV - overall just a very comfortable environment for winding down. A fridge, microwave and coffee maker are also there if you don't want to go out. The bathroom had a bath, separate shower and toilet which these days you don't find in more modern rooms. The furnishings were in good conditions and housekeeping was spot on. Downstairs the lobby area has a cafe selling takeaway items and a shop with provisions for the room. Location: A 10 minute walk will have you back in the main restaurant zone. At night this is definitely a positive as the main street is very noisy especially on the weekend. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Ala Moana shopping centre which also has many dining options and great shopping.
