We stayed at the Samuel Durfee house this past weekend while celebrating New Years and visiting with family in Newport. It is a charming b&b that is cared for by the most friendly and hospitable couple. Our room was a good size, had all of the amenities we needed and (most importantly for me)..a very comfortable bed. It was a quiet and relaxing stay.. just what we needed. Will definitely be staying there again on our next trip up.

I recently stayed at the Samuel Durfee House for two nights and was very impressed. The rooms were clean and comfortable (including new linens) and the bathrooms modern and bright. Breakfasts were ample in the communal breakfast room and tea/coffee was also available in the afternoon along with cookies/treats. The location is right in the heart of Newport so an easy walk to the bars/restaurants in town as well as quick walk/drive to the Newport Mansions. For the price paid we felt the Samuel Durfee House outstripped its competitors.

My husband and I had a very comfortable stay here recently. Our room was on the first floor and so quiet we couldn't tell that there were other guests and the place was completely booked.

The breakfasts were very good and huge. The innkeepers are very personable and had great recommendations for our visit. It really helped to have a little inside info on some places. We enjoyed every one of the recommendations that they offered.

The location is perfect to walk to all of the downtown area.

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary. The room was so comfortable, it was the perfect combination of cozy and romantic with modern amenities. We had a flat screen TV in out room and a beautiful deck out the side. The owners are so nice and the breakfast were amazing. This B&B is in the perfect location. You can walk to all of the major attractions and restaurants and they have a very nice lot for your car. Ours didn't move the entire weekend. I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit to Newport!
