We stayed at this hotel as a last minute option while touring New England. Glad we did. The location was perfect for Newport. The rooms were tastefully done in a nautical theme. The shower and bed were perfect. We can't say enough about the helpful staff. We'd like to thank Fred, the rooms manager, for his professionalism and familiar manner. He made us feel so welcomed.

I imagine that this property gets so busy in season but we got a AAA rate of $106. There were less expensive options in town but the Marriott quality was worth the extra money. I suggest that Newport visitors check out the Visitor Center which is located next to the hotel. They sometimes have good deals on rooms and restaurant discounts while visiting Newport.

We used the salon while we were at the property and received great service at a reasonable price. While we did not used the recreational facilities but we did tour them. They have a racketball court and pool. The staff was very nice.

Great location - right downtown & onthe water. Thus easy access to many shops & restaurants & great views.
Room was very comfortable. Loved the bed & the shower was amazing. I am not usually a fan of showers at hotels due to lack of pressure, recent upkeep, shower head, etc., but the bathroom was very modern with a great rain shower type shower head. I had asked for a room with a water view & they were nice enough to accommodate my request. However be aware that a room with a view can equal a very long walk from the elevator & is not unobstructed as the hotel is surrounded by other buildings. Just a note that if you get an interior room you do get a balcony over looking the nicely decorated lobby area which was quiet at least in Dec.
Amenities are nice. The gym & pool are in a beautiful quiet setting off of the main lobby. The pool & hot tub were sparkling. Off the lobby & pool area there is a very nice sitting area that was never being used except by my mother who enjoyed reading & sipping her morning coffee there. Self park with in & out privelidges is nice & was inexpensive during the off season, but doubles during the prime season.
Can't say enough about te service. Everyone we encountered were very friendly & helpful.
I will definitely be going back!
P.S. The bar/restaurant in the hotel has great appetizer deals during the week.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel in june 2011, during a scientific conference organized in this hotel. The hotel is placed at the best place of the newport. behind is the harbour, you can see boats and at evening friday and sat live music and band. Resturants are just opposite to the road and you can find many bars and shopiing places. Staffs are quite good and helpful.

Enjoyed a girls weekend at the Newport Marriott. You can walk to all, shopping and restaurants right out the door. Rooms average size but nicely decorated. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Lobby large and pleasant. Didn't eat here since so many choices of restaurants. We visited the Spa and it was excellent. Had an awesome massage and the receptionist was so friendly. She advised us on great dinner plans!
Will be back!
