I stayed here one night after attending a Salve Regina Hockey game. This hotel is in a great location. Close to all Newport has to offer. Many restaurants and activities close by. Be sure to take time to see the mansions and stroll the streets of Newport. Thames Street has some great shops and restaurants. Overall the hotel is clean and staff very friendly. My room was basic but clean. The beds were comfy. The only drawback was the hot water - it was lukewarm brrrrrr after being at a hockey rink.

Room Tip: Next time I stay here I'll request a room with a balcony or a room in the main part of hotel.

This place is average. For close to the same money, first check for availability in the nicer places in Downtown Newport. Two complaints with this place:

1) If you book through a site like Travelocity, they treat you like a red headed step child.
2) I wasted money booking a "Deluxe" room only to find out that deluxe at best western means microwave and mini fridge in room.

Benefits:
Hotel is right next to highway.

Very comfortable room at reasonable price
No breakfast, but i-hop nearby was excellent

“Reasonable Place to Stay”

This Best Western is a couple of miles from downtown Newport. It has its own restaurant and an outside pool. Very clean with large rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

“Great value with a deal on a 4th floor suite”

The 4th floor suites are so much better than the downstairs rooms it is worth getting a deal. The restaurant is operated separately from the hotel so you can't charge the meals but that is a minor inconvenience. Good value and a really helpful and pleasant team on reception (or front desk for North Americans!).
