“Romantic birthday getaway #perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

From check in to departure the experience at this hotel was perfect. Comfortable, spacious suite, with welcoming bottle of nice Sauvignon Blanc, excellent linens, closet space, etc. Dinner at the hotel was a bit overwhelming in its abundance (much more than a "taste" for the tasting menu with wine pairings--good thing we only had to walk back to the room!) Spa service very good as well--but would have preferred no children frolicking in the pool, nevertheless spotless and accomplished. The capper--a thoughtful bellman who stocked our car with bottles of water for our trip home. Small things add up to a lot, and the Vanderbilt Grace is built on a hundred and one small things.

Room Tip: Only the suites have bathtubs--otherwise it's showers (nice ones) only

“Lap of Luxery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I cannot begin to exude about this place properly. From the property, rooms, accomodations, to the staff - everything is absolutely wonderful. I felt completely welcomed the moment I arrived. The room was huge and gorgeous. The staff were unbelievably friendly, yet professional. The food was amazing. They were even kind enough to cater to my difficult gluten-free diet. I used to live in Newport and have stayed at many of the hotels and B&Bs - I have already decided never to bother booking elsewhere!

Room Tip: The pull out couch was nicer than my real bed at home.

“A True Gem in Downtown Newport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We were not disappointed by this beautiful small hotel. We had heard about this through our charity auction and decided to book our anniversary weekend there. The attentiveness of staff and luxurious amenities in each room made the Vanderbilt Grace stand out among other choices. The early 20th century advertising art collection is a reason to visit by itself.
In addition to the hotel rooms, the spa downstairs is of the best quality. Allison and staff took great care of us. The restaurant was a unique experience and visitors need to know that jackets are required for the men, prices are high and the service is leisurely. The food is worth the wait and the price, just be sure you are not in a hurry.

“Fun winter weekend in Newport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed here for one night while we were exploring Newport. The staff was so nice, we enjoyed the pool and sauna, the breakfast, easy parking, our awesome room. Also it's easy to walk to pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. Not sure that we could afford to go in the summer, but it was a great winter getaway.
