“Wkend Escape to Newport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2011

We consider The Wynstone along with the Clarkston, and Cleveland House B+B's to be the best "hidden" gems in Newport. Great location, free parking, full breakfast, comfortable and affordable accomodations. The owner, Rick is very friendly and very, very accomodating and the staff is wonderful (Suzie makes the best breakfast!!). When we visit Newport we always call The Inns of Newport.

“Great Room, Great Time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

My wife and I were very happy with our stay at the wynstone. It was spacious, clean and classy. After a nice dinner/night out we really enjoyed the fireplace and jacuzzi in our room. One of the best features is the central location...everything Newport has to offer is within walking distance. The Inn also offers up a full breakfast in the cozy dining room. The staff were accomodating and very helpful. They added a nice persoanal touch to our getaway. We would highly recommend contacting Rick and his staff for a first class getaway.

“Pricey, but very comfortable in great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Not sure why reviewer above so angry over the room. Great location, one street from wharfs, shops and restaurants. Just turn on AC to cover traffic noise. A bit inconvenient to check in, several streets up, not sure who to contact for emergency. Dean was helpful, Rick a bit arrogant. Hot Breakfast made to order, more variety would be nice, say continental options like cereal. Building is old, some of the rooms could use update for carpets, wallpaper, not sure why hey still have VCRs with 20 year old movies ( "Lampoons Christmas vacation" in our room). Bathrooms are terrific. Jacuzzi is very nice, some of the knobs broken off.

Upshot; comfortable stay but won't pay $325/night again unless they update the rooms.

“Had a Great Experience! Would Highly Recommend!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

Just spent 3 nights at the Wynstone Inn and could not have had a better experience. The owner, Rick was very accommodating even before we arrived, making arrangements to have special breakfast items on hand for my husband who had to leave early for work on one of the days.

We stayed in the Rosecliff room, which was fine size wise. The bathroom was almost the same size and was gorgeously decorated. The bed linens and towels were very good quality. I maybe would have preferred a few extra bed pillows, but did not ask for any either.

The Inn is perfectly located within walking distance to downtown Newport, directly across the street from the church that JFK and Jackie were married in. While our room was on the front corner, closest to the busy intersection, we did not find noise to be a problem, possible because of the AC, but none the less, not an issue.

I had breakfast two mornings, and both were excellent, made to order.

Dean and Tom, staff that I met during our stay were friendly and helpful. Rick could not have been more helpful in offering more to meet our needs.
(He recommended Bouchard's for dinner one night which was excellent.)

Would definitely recommend this Inn!

“Lovely Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2010

My wife and I spent two nights in "The Breakers" room at the Wynstone. The location was superb, the room was well-appointed. We definitely took advantage of the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub. Michelle, our hostess, was friendly and very helpful. We would certainly stay here again.
