“What a great way to begin the New Year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

We planned a last minute trip for New Years with family and friends. The Brinley had a perfect location, convenient to all. There was lovely decor, fabulous hospitality and service, along with a great breakfast as a bonus. Paul Galluscio is the General Manager and he went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. I believe 4 properties are part of the group that the Brinley belongs to. We tried some great bars and restaurants. We will definitely plan to visit again in the spring to do the cliff walk. Newport is as beautiful as I remember and we can't wait to return.

“Very nice and welcoming B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

What a gem! John and Jennifer know how to make guests feel happy at their lovely B&B. Beautiful rooms, nicely decorated, very good breakfasts. The house is centrally located, close to downtown Newport. Very pleasant hosts always available for help. Highly recommended!

“Great location - charming place to stay!”

Our stay was excellent. I cannot wait to return next summer. The moment you walk in you see a VERY clean cozy home. The owners (John and Jennifer) are kind and full of information about the area and completely open with the house. They had a great way of making you feel welcome and tell delightful stories in their English accent that is very exotic ( at least to these New York ears). . The rooms are not large but large enough and very well decorated and you have to try the Jacuzzi tub! The breakfast was delicious. Jennifer makes a french toast to die for - if anyone knows what kind of cheese she puts in there, i would love to know! Fruit was always fresh and there was more coffee and orange juice than you could drink! We always felt as if we were with friends rather than just tenants. The Beds are the best I have slept in at any hotel the sheets feel like cotton silk and the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud! It made it hard to get out of bed! Each night Ghiardelli chocolates were placed on our night table. Everything is close by, downtown Newport and the Mansions were walking distance. The Brinley is on a side street which made it quiet and relaxing after a day of touring (many B&B's we passed seemed right on busy streets). I recommend the Brinley Victorian to anyone looking to just get away and relax!!!

“rude owners”

Just returned from a stay at The Brinley Victorian Inn. I simply love Newport but this inn is not one of Newports finest. The owners, John and Jennifer follow you around as if you are a child and I am 46 years old. Jennifer is the rudest of the two often scolding you for closing the door with a little to much energy, appearing from the back to tell you that the doors do not need to be shut so vigourously. Should you think that it may be ok to enter the inn after 10.00pm beware mom and dad will appear in the doorway to scold you for returning late and awakining them. At breakfast should you make too much clanging with the dishes, out comes Jennifer to see whats going on.
Floors were filthy, decorated with single lone flip flops and empty water bottles under the bed. Would never recommend this inn.

“Cute B&B with friendly owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2009

The best part of the Brinley is its location. It's a couple of blocks from Bellevue Ave and a 5-7 minute walk to Thames St. The cottages are a few minutes ride away and you can walk to the Cliff Walk. The owners are very helpful and friendly and even picked us up from the bus station (we didn't have a car). The inn is nicely decorated in victorian style and the rooms are very comfortable (we were upgraded to the suite on the first floor at the front of the house). There is a nice garden that you can eat your breakfast in.
