We were welcomed when we arrived by John - who was keeping the guest house going while Denise and Wayne were away - he couldn't have been more friendly and gave us a quick map read of the area highlights with recommendations. Our king size bed in room w/full bath was cozy and quiet included refrig. Breakfast was delicious - made to order eggs, sausage and all the fixins topped off with fresh blueberry pancakes. Lovely enclosed porch sitting room for after breakfast retreat.
We will return.

I would absolutely recommend this inn to anyone who is looking for a fabulous bargain in a great Newport location - really close to all the Thames Street action but tucked far enough away that the noise isn't an issue. My boyfriend and I stayed here two nights in September and were very impressed. Denise and Wayne are very welcoming and informative. They served a delicious, fresh breakfast every morning and plenty of coffee. They also have free wifi through-out the inn which many places do not have! They also had free parking for one car per party, which was really great considering some places in the area dont have any parking or charge for it.

The one sore spot was our room - it was okay for two night but it would probably bother me if we stayed longer. It was spacious and incredibly clean but the bathroom was absolutely tiny (literally two people couldnt be in there at once) and the sink was actually outside the bathroom in the bedroom itself. That is my only complaint but it can be very common in B&Bs. I would probably ask for a different room when we return next time (because we are totally coming back to this place!)

Overall, this was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend the Fair Street Inn to anyone!

The service we received here was outstanding. Any requests we had were met immediately and with a smile. We felt as though we were staying with family. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and came with a lovely chat from innkeepers Denise and Wayne. Our room was private with enough room for a six night stay, they upgraded us for our comfort without extra charge. We stayed here through a hurricane and they were full of information and help, they also worked on gas so when other large hotels didn't have power we were still able to shower and eat! We were very grateful to the owners for their knowledge of the area and advice in what to do to keep entertained.

Friendly atmosphere and close to marina. Parking avail good breakfast. clean
