I stayed at the downtown Holiday Inn while taking part in the annual Buffalo Garden Walk. I had stayed at a Holiday in the burbs in 2010 and wanted a more central location. I booked this Holiday Inn primarily because of the location. I could just walk from the hotel to many of the gardens on display. That was a big plus.
I was initially happy with the room. However, when I went into the bathroom, I saw a long hair or two in the sink. I cleaned up the sink. Then I saw one or two more on the bathroom floor.I went to unpack and there was a broken nail(false) in the drawer along with crumbs etc. So I cleaned that up also.Later on I tried to open the window and couldn't . I called the front desk. The handyman came up and opened the window-implying that the windows were off the rollers. The chair was very comfortable. But I felt as if it was grimy-so sat on a towel while sitting and reading etc. Finally, I dropped something on the floor and bent down to get it and right by the lamp saw two or three pills(Advil).
As you gather, this room had not been properly cleaned. I did not post this review before since I was waiting for a reply from Holiday Inn re: my complaint. I have followed up my initial
complaint but to no avail.
I am disappointed because I thought I had found a good place to stay (2011) and for future trips. But, due to lack of response, I'll have to look for other accomodation this year.
Note:
The elevators were not centrally located. They were at the end of the hall. Keep this in mind if you want be close to an elevator.
