This hotel charged way too much for what it actually offers. I should have been tipped off when the lobby area was dark and cold, and the guy at the front desk was wearing a winter coat, but we just wanted to get off the road, and I wish we didn't settle! The room left a lot to be desired. It wasn't clean, there was a ring of dirt and dust around the perimeter of the room, a hole in the wall, the furniture was dusty, the bathroom had yellowing wallpaper, and the shower curtain had some mysterious goo on the inside of it. The bed was hard, and actually had indentations in each side from so many people sleeping in it. The dated floral bedspread felt unclean, but the towels and bedding were the worst I've ever seen, at any hotel ever. The towels were yellowed, stained, and beyond just threadbare, so thin you could see through them. The sheets actually had many holes in them...placed at the bottom of the bed so you don't know they're there until you climb into bed and your feet poke through. The laundry area was gross and not heated, and the walls were super thin.
Also watch out for sneaky charges! I asked if there was $10 of tax or what the extra money was tagged on to the room rate when I checked in- he insisted that I could get a break down only when I checked out in the morning. The next morning, I had to specifically ask for a receipt, and found out I was charged $2.50 for "safe insurance". I asked for the safe charge to be removed, and he refused, saying it was mandatory for everyone and it wasn't for using the safe, it was actually for insurance....shouldn't the hotel’s insurance be included in the room rate? It really felt like they were trying to scam everyone out of these extra couple of dollars, they made quite an effort to not tell me about this mysterious charge at check in and check out.
For $75 you can get a much cleaner, friendlier place in Flagstaff.
