“The absolute worst hotel experience one could have.”

The room I stayed in appeared to have had a serious physical confrontation from some former guests. The front door had a plaster repair to what seemed like a hole made from some force. Inside the bathroom door had a poor stucco repair to what was clearly a hole in the door. The bathroom towel rack was bent on the wall. The bathroom screen window had a hole in it. And there were dabs of paint and stucco on the walls intended to cover something up. The mini metal blinds were damaged and allowed anyone passing by to see in the room. No curtain on window, so I put the bedspread over the curtain rod. At 8;30PM on the night I stayed there, the front desk clerk gave my room to a couple who tried to get in with the key he gave them. I was alone and yelled to them to stop trying to get in my room and go to the office. The desk clerk then pounded on my door telling me I was not registered. When I opened the door to him he recognized me and lamely apololgized. At 2AM two police cruisers woke me as they were arresting a drunk driver in the parking lot in front of my room. I wouldn't give this motel any stars. The room smelled like cigarettes covered up with cleaning solution. DON'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL.

“Well, it's cheap...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

We stayed for the price but when we got into the room after driving all day from Los Angeles, we found the lamps were not plugged in and the bathroom floor was wet from the dripping shower head facing towards the outside of the tub. (huh?) I was tempted to pull back the sheets to see if any spiders were going to pounce all over me in my sleep but didn't find any. However, the blanket had marks on it like someone cleaned their shoes with it and placed back on the bed.

The next day, I took a bath but had to clean the tub out and saw a dead roach that came up from the drain. (yuck!) The towel I used to dry myself with was the towel from the night before that was used to wipe up the water on the floor, then used as a floor mat. I didn't notice until I was done and raised it up to the light to see dirt all over it. What a drag!

There were burnt holes in the bed spread, they use flats sheets on the mattress instead of fitted, towel racks were damaged and flimsy. Overpowering disinfected odors...and you can hear the watering running from other rooms.

They do have a fridge and a microwave along with wifi...thank goodness. You do get what you pay for and only would I go back if I am down and broke!

“Americana Inn should be shut down!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2010

There was dog feces under the bed in room 139! One of my sons noticed it and told me. I pulled the bed back and saw old and dry dog feces in a huge amount. We left after that and the motel staff said it was not their problem. "Take it up with EXPEDIA.COM they said". Expedia told me there is nothing they can do for me. So I called the health dept on them today. Stay away from this place and check your motel rooms wherever you go BEFORE you hand anyone any of your money!

“Horrible, horrible, horrible...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

I am really not a picky person, but this place is not a good place to stay, especially, not with your wife and small children. There were a couple of homeless looking people mumbling to themselves and exiting/entering the room next to ours when we arrived, so we quickly entered our room. The lights, TV, and fridge, were all unplugged when I arrived, so I had to lay on the dirty carpet and plug these items in. I also had to plug in another light that worked with the light switch near the door. There weren't enough plugs near the fridge, TV, and main room light, so I would've had to alternate appliances. Luckily, I didn't need the small fridge. The heat was turned off, no, not turned down, turned off. There was snow outside and the heat didn't work well. It was about the middle of the night before the room was warm enough to actually sleep in it. There was only one comforter on the bed(s), so that didn't help either. The bed sheets were stained. The sink was clogged and there were no plastic bags in the garbage cans. The bathroom door would stick every time anyone used it. When we woke up to go to our continental breakfast at 7:30 am, that our night attendant mentioned would include pastries, we found no such pastries. When I asked about danishes, donuts, etc. The morning attended said all they provided was coffee and juice. When I explained we were told otherwise she said she believed they were out of danishes, but would check in the back. She came back and confirmed that they were out. Clearly, they had been out for a few days, or a day at least, or maybe this is a constant scam with them. The coffee was weak. Maybe the orange juice was grand, who knows. I am used to staying in Comfort Inns or Travel Lodges or Holiday Inns, etc. Occasionally, I like to try out more quaint looking hotels, but this is not a place worth staying at. It is more of a run down crappy motel. Maybe they should change their name to the Americana Run Down Crappy Motel that would be more appropriate than the Americana Inn for sure!

“Worst place ever, and I'm used to inexpensive motels. Please don't stay here!”

I would never stay at this hotel again. It was the cheapest of the cheap hotels. And I'm used to staying in $60 rooms or occasionally motel 6's. It was very loud with people in their early 20's drinking and hanging out. One guy looked like he was living in a room there. He said next door used to be the motel and now it's slum apartments. In the morning, there were 3 police cars that showed up on patrol, but I don't know why. The room was smelly, the air conditioning and heat wouldn't work right. It was cold at night and we needed the heat. Instead, the air conditioner turned on and blew cold air when you put the room at a high temp. It wouldn't turn off, so we froze all night. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and hurt our backs. They have no alarm clock or shampoo and conditioner, just bar soap. We asked the front desk to give us a wake up call at 10 am the next morning before we checked out. Instead they called us at 1am and woke us up, and continued to call 2 more times, every 10 min, waking us up repeadedly. We called the front desk after the first call and told them WRONG TIME! But it still kept calling. I had to unplug the phone. The place didn't look clean. They gave one towel and a small bath mat for two people. The toilet tissue was almost gone with no replacement roll in the room. We had to go to the office to ask for a second bath towel and more toilet tissue, as well as 2 extra pillows. They had lamps and the tv unplugged as well, which was weird and we couldn't figure out why nothing worked at first. Furniture completely shabby and stained. I was afraid I'd see bed bugs in the bed. The only good thing I can say is the staff was nice about giving us more toilet paper and towels. They let us check out at noon instead of 11, but that was probably due to the repeated wake up calls in the middle of the night. The maids woke us up in the morning too, but were apologetic. Overall experience, WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED AT!
