I'd actually stayed at the Lucky Lane location and cancelled my Route 66 stay within one hour after realizing it wasn't as close to my job site as the Lucky Lane location was. Since May of 2009, they (the route 66 location) have been giving me the run around on getting the money back with a large variety of excuses from "our credit card machine is broken", to "we're waiting for our accountant to come in and write checks", etc.
The Howard Johnson Corp Office will not assist me even after filing a formal complaint and sending multiple emails with no reply since it's a franchise location so as options run thin I'll pursue this the hard way through the legal system or local media. Do not stay here unless you want to be ripped off. It's been a long waste of time and money dealing with this hotel.
