“Does what it says on the tin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Location: The location isn't exactly in the heart of Flagstaff, but it is convenient, with a Walmart across the road if you need any provisions. Along with a few changes and easy access from the highway it's generally safe and does the job.

Room: We were 4 adults staying in a 2 Double bed room which had recently had it's Ikea-esque makeover, which was quite welcomed. We had stayed in Motel 6's before, varying in it's 90's decor, so the refresh was a nice touch. Needless to say the room was a little tight with 4 adults, but the beds were more than comfortable for a few nights, bring your own pillow! The bathroom was clean, and functional.

Service: As with most Motel 6's check-in was super simple and easy, which is just what you're after. The staff were friendly and helpful giving us directions into town and change for the washing machine.

Value: For the price you really cant go wrong, as I said before having the refreshed room made it an even nicer experience. It does what it says on the tin.

“Cheap, but you get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

This Motel 6 wasn't horrible, the rooms were clean and had been updated recently, but as with all budget motels, you get what you pay for. The beds were very uncomfortable in my opinion, and the bedspread is made of a weird material that is even more uncomfortable than the regular motel bedspreads. I would love to have a washable duvet cover at motels, which can't cost much more since this is what hostels use all over Europe.

There was no sound insulation, so you heard everything your neighbors said, or everything someone walking down the hall said. This was especially apparent when our neighbors alarm (?) went off for about 3 hours. I drifted in and out of sleep and would hear it every time I woke a little, but wasn't awake enough to call the front desk. Then a group walked past our room at 2AM and woke us up enough so that the alarm became unbearable (it was a screaming voice that repeated every 30 seconds...very annoying!). We called the front desk, but since we didn't know what room it was coming from they said they couldn't call and wake someone up (which is fair, but they could have also walked out and investigated which room it was coming from). So they said they'd give us a discount for the night. The next day I talked to the morning front desk person and she said she could only give us a $10 discount!

But all in all it was cheap, they allowed dogs, and the rooms were clean.

“Remodeled Motel 6”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We travel with our dog and sometimes stay at a Motel 6 if we are just staying for a night while traveling. This motel 6 has been renovated with the newer bamboo flooring and newer bedding. It is a 3 story facility but has an elevator. Clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice for a motel 6. Close to freeway.

“Great shelter from the blizzard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

I stayed here for a few nights during the mid December blizzard.
I think this Motel 6 is located in the best part of Flagstaff for motels. Away from railroad tracks, away from the "seedy" areas, away from the traffic congestion frustrations of Milton and Route 66; but with groceries, dining, shopping, NAU, and freeway access just moments away.
The motel has a courtyard area with beautiful ponderosa pines as well as some great mountain views if you trek up to the third floor.
The room was somewhat spartan but that was expected. No refrigerator, I did miss that.
It did have an excellent, large, flat screen TV with ports for hooking in computers and MP3s.
The shower (no tub) was a handheld thing but it actually worked really well, plenty hot and good pressure.
The beds were OK, pretty firm, seemed kind of short. I was really pleasantly surprised by the pillows, some of the best I've encountered, usually I use my own, but theirs I liked more!
The heater/fan was digital and worked fine and not annoyingly loud.
Parking just steps from your door is nice, too, if you get ground floor.
The lady who checked me in was very pleasant with a very nice smile, made me feel welcome.
So I guess I came away feeling pretty positive about this place.

“OK. . . but avoid certain rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We have stayed at this budget rate Motel many times. Its ideally situated being near enough to large grocery store and a Walmart, but far enough away for them not to bother you. There is a convenient gas station a little further up Woodland Avenue. The Motel is close to the I-40 but chiefly the 89 which takes you on a scenic journey down to Sedona.
The Motel has been refurbished, the rooms are compact but fine. Decent TV and bathroom etc etc. Unless there is no option do not take a ground floor room near the lift and stairs. We were woken late night by luggage trollys trundling over the rough cement pathway outside the door. Worse than that is when it rains. There is a makeshift water chute repair up on the roof, the water pours down in a stream from it and splashes very loudly in a pool of water right next to a few of the rooms.(again, near the lift doors) This also kept us awake. Rooms to the rear of the motel look out over the swimming pool and a very noisy I-40 interstate highway. The advice is if possible stay top level and to the front or side of the building away from the lift. The staff were friendly and concerned when I complained about the ground floor room, a small adjustment was made to our bill. We returned to the motel for a second time in a week, this time we had no problems as we took a room front top floor.
