“dirty and smelly”

My husband and I were traveling with my brother and his wife on our way back to Texas from California. My husband became ill so we stopped at one of the first places we could find so he could rest. The man on duty was very nice and helpful and even showed us the rooms before we paid. The room smelled bad, like mold or dirty feet, but we had to take it because of the illness. The beds were made, but the sheets didn't look fresh. You could tell they had not been cleaned. My husband slept in his clothes. Thank goodness we had our own pillows from home. We would not shower because the towels looked dingy and grey, and I think they may just refold them and not have them cleaned. Worst hotel experience we have ever had. My brother and his wife had the same experience in their room next door. Couldn't wait to leave. Hardly slept at all. Never felt safe, although the locks are secure.

“Terrible Customer Service!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

My family reserved a room at this hotel using Hotels.com. We were planning on staying there the first night of our cross country move from California to Indiana. However, only 100 miles into the trip, our car broke down & was towed to a town only 70 miles from where we started! Immediately upon arriving at the service station we noticed a Travelodge next door & thought that while it was an unsavory neighborhood, we could transfer our reservation there without consequence...surely this is a situation that we could not foresee nor avoid! I spoke to Kevin who said it didn't sound like a problem & he asked me to call back & talk to Snita. I did so, the next day...and, boy was he mistaken! That repugnant (Indian) manager was insulting, rude and totally inconsiderate of my family's predicament. We were stuck, indefinitely, in the ghetto...living in our second car (a small 1993 Lexus), with a toddler, two dogs & two cats - at a 76 Station! I even offered to send her our repair bill to prove that I was not fabricating the whole story to avoid staying at her second rate hotel! So, in addition to the $1000 car repair bill & extra night's hotel stay, we were also charged for a full night at a hotel we couldn't even get to. These hotels hide behind the cancellation policy agreement they have with Hotels.com & forget to act like considerate "real people" who are in the service industry!
Needless to say, we will never stay at this or any other Travelodge, will never use Hotels.com again, and will find as many places as I can to leave this feedback for all to read!

“Down to earth with all the conviences and pretty comfy beds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

We used the travelodge as a home base for a week to explore the area. After airing out the room and masking the smoke with a scented candle we had a pretty decent home base. Plenty of space to store camping gear- working fridge and micro. Cons- a bit far to historic Flagstaff, a very active and rowdy bar and smoke that would seep into the bathroom through the vents. Pros- cheap and comfortable after a rainy night of camping this felt great!

“Not The Hilton but not the Bates Motel Either!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

My wife and I have stayed at this motel on several occassions. We have learned to call ahead and always request the same room. This is not a fancy, five star establishent so if that's what you're expecting, forget it. However the room we stay in is clean, bed is reasonably comfortable, there is refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and the air conditioner/heater works. Since the overpass was built you can hardly hear the trains pass through the night. Flag has some real low end dives but this motel isn't one of them. We will stay here again. Have never had a problem with the front desk. Family owned and operated.
