It really pains me to say this, because we are big fans of Sheraton/Starwood hotels, having stayed at literally dozens throughout the world, but this one needs some help. Where to start? The truth is that nearly every aspect of the property was only average or below. The location is good, just off Route 91 in the middle of downtown Springfield and the hotel personnel were young and uniformly helpful, but the room contained chipped and damaged furniture, the self-parking cost $12.95 per night, and the hotel bar only carried about 4-5 brands of beer. There was so much lint and garbage (i.e., candy wrappers, etc.) on the floor of our room that it was clear that it hadn't been vaccuumed in awhile. Worst of all, our Gold SPG status somehow landed us in a room smack in the middle of some kind of teen tour with whooping teens in the rooms surrounding us and partying literally all night long. Where were their chaperones? Where was hotel security when kids are rampaging through the hallways at 3 AM? We will not return, especially since there is a Marriott right next door. If you must stay at a Sheraton in the area, try the one at the Hartford Airport (Bradley) just 12 miles south. The entire experience was a big disappointment overall. 'Nuff said.
Room Tip: To choose a "good" room, try a different hotel.
