“A Motel 6 that is a cut above the rest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2010

Quiet and safe location, friendly & curteous staff, larger than normal rooms, clean, etc. When we first arrived the room we were put in, although clean, smelled like someone had smoked in it. I asked to be moved to another room and the staff quickly moved us to another room apologizing for the problem with the first room. We visited friends in the area and needed a place to stay that would accomodate us (two queen beds and no fee for our dog). All of this for under $50/night!

“Flat hard bumpy bed, cheap, & a little trashy...I guess you get what you pay for.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2010

It was certainly the least expensive...but really...I think I'd rather suck it up and pay a little more to get a lot more. There wasn't even a hair dryer...no internet...and the bed was flat, hard, and bumpy....old bed with poor poor quality sheets...I'm upgrading next time.

“excellent for a Motel 6”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

Very attractive property for a Motel 6. Clean, quiet rooms and very nice staff. A little hard to find since they don't allow signs on the freeway in this city. Still, it is right off the freeway. It is a good idea to call just before you arrive if you don't know the area. Also an excellent value for this part of Calif on a weekend night. I paid double the night before (Friday) at a Motel 6 not far from here.

“No Customer Service Resolution Skills”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

Two separate experiences with one employee has tarnished the name of Motel 6 for me. Even though i know there are a lot of wonderful Motel 6 locations nationwide and there are also wonderful employees at this location, on principle i have just decided not to rent to motel 6 again because of how the conflict and my lack of satisfaction with the services that this employee provided. The Guest relations and corporate office have got no say at what a location decides and since the location won and i as a customer was not offered a win win situation i leave it there . I am dissapointed with the lack of conflict and problem resolution skills.

“Decent, clean, basic accomodations at a great price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2008

The Motel 6 in Thousand Oaks is pretty nice as far as Motel 6's go. The pool was a little bit dirty, but it as also very cold so no one really used it. Our room was clean, with the usual basic Motel 6 layout and slippery bedspreads. The shower had a new-style water saver head which was installed quite low in the wall so I had to bend over a lot to wash my hair, but the water flow was good, not like the oldstyle water-savers that put out a fine spray. The walls were thin and we could hear a lot of footsteps above us all night, so you might not get much sleep if the hotel is full and you are a light sleeper; I hope all light sleepers bring earplugs while traveling these days anyway!

The motel is a nice property physically, on a bit of a hill with nothing very close, a nice and safe location just off the freeway. There is a shopping center on the other side of the freeway including several restaurants and a Starbucks. There is a gas station just across the street from the motel.

  • Liked — Location between LA and Santa Barbara, nice property,
  • Disliked — Pool is unheated!!
