Hi,

I just wanted to share with my horrible experience with travelodge in Santa Fe. I made a reservation for 3 room in this motel for myself and other people visiting out of the country using my cc card. When we checked in we decided to all pay separately providing a second credit card and paying cash for the 3rd room (bad idea, but my colleagues are from a very remote place in Russia and they do not have a cc card). The day we checked out they not only charged me for all of the rooms, they charged the second cc card and they "did not remember" they took cash for the 3rd room, despite for the hand written receipt. It sis dishonest to take advantage of people who are visiting this country and can barely speak English. i will definitely report you and spread information about your dishonest practices. Not only you charged us twice, you kept calling my cell phone and yelling at me. Your staff is rude and unprofessional except for the young lady who works morning shifts.

New Year's Eve and back in the Travelodge

We had stayed at this Travelodge 3 years ago for New Year's Eve. This year, we were back again. This time we stayed 2 nights. It is not "exactly" in the Plaza, but it is near enough so you can walk there. We also walked to the state capitol. It had snowed but it was a beautiful sunny day. It always seems a beautiful cold sunny day in Santa Fe!

Anyway, we paid $54.99 + room tax $4.37 + city tax $3.85 for 2 nights, in a double room, 2 beds for two people. Total for two nights was $126.42. We used a discount coupon from a travel brochure, the type found at gas stations/tourist offices.

The room was not as big as in other Travelodge motels. it had everything but was a bit cluttered . Beds were comfortable, heating worked all right. Breakfast free at reception but there is not much space there so customers are encouraged to take the pastries and coffee to their rooms.

It is a good motel for parking the car and walking to downtown Santa Fe. There is a Wholefoods supermarket nearby, one can go and pick up nice salads, tamales and other hot food and eat it at the same supermarket or take it away.

The reception desk clerk was friendly and recommended a restaurant nearby, Tomasita's, but we didn't have the opportunity of having a meal there. We would recommend this motel for travellers on a budget. Other Santa Fe motels seem very expensive, this one has a very decent price. We had not booked in advance but we still got a room for two nights on Dec 30 and 31st. Not bad.

  • Liked — location near downtown
  • Disliked — room a tad small, bit cluttered

This hotel was in abrilliant location being only 10 mins walk from downtown santa fe. It was very reasonable and spotlessly clean.

We had a book of coupons for lodging in various towns, so when we got to Santa Fe, after walking around the Plaza, we checked out the Travelodge. For a budget price, it was an ok place to stay. The room was clean, the bathroom had been updated. The front desk clerk was a little short with me, but the phone was also ringing off the hook. We were a little worried about the traffic along Cerrillos and the noise it might make at night, but it was suprisingly quiet in the room (even though when the door was shut, you could see daylight coming in at the top!) It does advertise as being walking distance to the Plaza, as does several other properties I looked at prior to our trip. The Travelodge, as most of the other affordable places, is in walking distance IF you are able to walk 6 blocks or more and don't plan on shopping much. Would I stay here again? Probably not, just because I don't care to stay in the Plaza area again. Next time I visit Santa Fe, I think I will look for a hotel away from the Plaza area and just find a lot to park in while I look around the Plaza.

  • Liked — Location near the Plaza, price
  • Disliked — parking lot was very hard to get in and out of

We had three couples scheduled for two nights(July26-27). We booked via Travelodge national number. We reconfirmed the evening of arrival. When we arrived,at midnight, the manager Mr. Jay Patel, told us our rooms were cancelled. When we said by who, he shrugged his shoulders and told us to leave. He did not offer to call other motels/hotels. Three couples were stranded on a busy weekend. Would not trust this motel.
