“Quick ski trip to Santa Fe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

The place is dated, but for the price it is a great value. The rooms are small. Each has a kitchen and with children that is a plus.
Our room was very clean and includes daily service.
It is a pet friendly place but we didn't notice any unusual smells in our room.

They were very helpful in accomondating us with the room with two beds.
The breakfast is very small and does not offer much. We had to supplement.
Overall our stay was great and we loved parking right outside our door with all of our ski gear.

“Solid value”

Spacious, clean rooms. Pleasant 24hr help at the reception desk. A few nice extras like in-room pod coffee. You need a car to get into town. If you'll have a car anyway, the much lower cost of this vs downtown hotels makes it a very good value.

“Stayed here several times since last century”

Santa Fe, New Mexico is usually a stop over for me. When I'm there I want to just relax and chill out. I have things to do to like um laundry and have something to eat. Santa Fe Suites (It used to be called I believe Camelback suites) fits my bill. The rooms are always clean, nice and comfortable. They have a very nice clean laundry room. Within walking distance is an Albertsons supermarket where I can pickup a roast chicken and all the fixins. Unique rooms. It just doesn't feel like a corporate franchise hotel chain at all. In fact I go a little bit out of my way in drive time just to stay there. If I ever spend any extended time in Santa Fe, I'll stay at Santa Fe Suites.

Room Tip: I always choose the second floor near the laundry room. Just to be sure

“Dubious return”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

We stayed in the one bedroom suite and while the size was nice (lots of room) there were issues. First, luckily we did not need to cook anything as there were no pots or pans available. Second, the dishwasher did not work but the maid did wash the dishes by hand and that was nice. Third, there were no drapes, only blinds, on the windows. Hotels should not use blinds as they are abused by the patrons and most of these blinds had issues. Fourth, the bedroom was on the east side of the building and in the morning, with no drapes, the room became ultra-bright and hard to sleep in. And fifth, while I did sign up for 4 nights at the rate quoted, a lot of the hotels in Santa Fe were offering discounts (unknown to me at the time I booked the room); like stay 3 nights and get a fourth free. When I inquired about a discount when I checked out, I was rather rudely told NO WAY. All in all, it is dubious we will stay there again. And we go to Santa Fe 2 or 3 times a years for a total of 10 to 12 nights.

“nice place, but has some glitches”

We made reservations 3 weeks in advance and asked for a ground floor room for the dog. I called 2 days before our trip to confirm. They has us on the 2nd floor. I asked to change to ground floor. They said ok. When we arrived they has us on the 2nd floor. The clerk was most accommodating and moved us to the ground floor. They need to keep better track of requests. That being said, I really like this place. It is reasonably priced and close downtown (I hate staying down Cerrillos Rd. - bad traffic). They have nice little kitchens and they have always been clean. The rooms are bit small. There is an Albertsons grocery store just in front of the motel.

Room Tip: I have stayed in just about every wing. It seems that all the rooms are equal. The entire hotel is v...
