“Do not trust these people with your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2008

We made reservations about two months ago, had a change of plans and cancelled them the same day. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that we had been charged for a 3-day stay anyway! Now they refuse to refund the money, and although we will eventually get it back, it would have been much easier and more pleasant if they had just adhered to honest business practices. Do not stay here, do not give them any credit card information. There are lovely b&b's in and near Santa Fe - don't risk trying to do business with these people.

“Absolutely worse place to stay in Santa Fe”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2008

Dancing Ground of the Sun: Should you come across this place, which is operated by All Season's Resorts, DO NOT fall for the false advertisement of this old, neglected, dirty property.....oh, and by the way, the place has a FOR SALE sign on the building and when we inquired about it we were told by the Realtor that it has been on the market for the past 2 years. Nothing has been done to the place for much longer than that. No one was there to let us in, you have to call a phone number posted on a piece of paper on the front office door and when you call you get a person's voice mail with no identification of who they are. We finally figured out that they have the keys to the rooms in an envelope in a box by the front office door - you cannot get into the so called lobby or front desk area, everything is locked up. The building sits about 10 feet off the curb of one of the more busy streets and all the rooms of that building face that street. Everything is neglected inside the rooms, and they have a musty odor and are filthy. Nothing looks like the pictures on the internet or fits the written descriptions. There was 4 of us and we had to try and find new lodging in town. Disgusting!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Please listen...

This is the worst place we have ever stayed at, and we travel a lot! The first casita we were given had no heat and it was 17 degrees outside. The entire place was covered in a thick layer of dust that we could write in with our fingers. The comforter on the bed was old and faded and would shoot dust in the air when you sat on it or hit it.

We were moved to another casita which had a horrible stench. The floors were so dirty that we were unable to take our shoes off for the entire stay. We couldn't use the shower because there was so much mineral build-up around the holes. The water shot across the bathroom. There was also substantial water damage in the bedroom and bathroom, and the walls were buckled and discolored. The comforter in this unit was worse than the one in the first one.

Watch for the fire wood that they charge you for. It's too green and won't burn.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! It is also on the market FOR SALE!

All of the staff members were friendly and empathic -- it's because they know what a dump it is, and they genuinely seemed to feel bad for us.

“Rip-off alert: beware of false advertising”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2007

The other reviews that have complained about DGS being a bait-and-switch are accurate. We booked a two-night stay based on the misleading photos on its website, which make it look like DGS offers big, clean, fancy suites. We figured that $320/night for a really nice room with a separate bedroom and kitchen was worth it considering that it was the high season in a touristy town. But the room we were stuck in was nothing like the swanky photos on the website. It was dark, dingy, and run-down. It had low ceilings, a flaking (and ugly) paint job, cracks and holes in the wall, exposed wires, mold in the bathroom, a cramped bedroom, and negative atmosphere. The website promised a "charming" room with a "spacious bedroom" and "tasteful" furnishings. We got none of these things. In short, DGS was dumpy and hardly worth the exorbitant price. We're waiting for a response from the management, which seems to be trying to sell the property, which may explain the indifference to honest advertising. See the photos of our room to see for yourself.

“Dissapointed in Dancing Ground of the Sun”

This place was for sale and almost nothing worked. Lights, refrigerator, ovens etc. In one casita, the roof leaked and the couple had to be moved to another room.
