“The absolute best place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

My daugter and I recently stayed in the Morning Glory room at the Madeline Inn. We wanted our stay in Santa Fe to be totally relaxing and we nailed it by staying there. From the minute we opened the front door to the minute we left, it was total relaxation. The spa treatments are beyond a doubt, the best I've ever had! The bed is like sleeping on a cloud, the staff is warm and friendly, and Greg really serves the best breakfast ever! The Inn is within walking distance to so many good restauants and shops. Our stay there felt more like visitng good friends than just staying in a hotel. If you want to relax and enjoy the essence of Santa Fe, this is the place to go.

Room Tip: The Morning Glory was a great size to allow leaving luggage out and not be cramped. The bed is exce...

“Just passing through”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

My mom and I were on a road trip, but couldn't go through Santa Fe without staying a night and walking around the next day. We called day of and were given a significant discount since we wouldn't be there until later and would miss the appetizer hour. Nice! It was very easy to let ourselves in after-hours, get settled and walk down to the square to find a late dinner. We stayed up quite late, so woke up later. Stayed in the Columbine room a beautiful, comfortable, cozy room. It was on the first floor so, as with most bed and breakfasts, we did hear some noises as we still tried to sleep, but it wasn't any more than I would expect. And we were sleeping in, so it wasn't too early. Breakfast was amazingly unique and delicious. Quinoa for breakfast! And we talked to staff and other guests like they were family (better actually). They then allowed us to keep our car in their parking lot until the afternoon while we walked around. Not always possible, but it wasn't a busy day for them. Great experience. Would definitely stay here again.

“Romantic Setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

We stayed in the Forsythia Suite. What a wonderfully romantic room, fireplace and all. Regan was a wonderful hostess and rescued us when I left my cell phone locked in the room, at 6 in the morning! What a wonderful place. I highly recommend staying here. The breakfasts were marvelous.

Room Tip: The Forsythia Suite was wonderful. Highly recommend.

“Homey, peaceful, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

We stayed for 2 nights in the Ivy Suite. In all the best ways it felt like we were staying at Grandma's house. The Ivy Suite is the top level of the house and has funky attic ceilings with all sorts of cool windows and nooks & crannies. (My husband is 6 ft tall and never hit his head and felt comfy in the room). The room was perfectly clean but there were a few rough edges like some hooks in the bathroom that had been moved around and not repainted, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Really, it felt like we were staying in a family home. The main gathering area is very comfortable, but we spent more time in the Hacienda Nicholas across the way since that's where breakfast & nightly appetizers are served which is also very charming. The breakfasts were great. Really yummy! The appetizer night wasn't too amazing - just chips & salsa the night we went and it's bring your own bottle of wine due to alcohol laws in New Mexico. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and gave great suggestions for galleries, etc. We walked everywhere from the Madeline and just kept our car in their free lot. It took about 3 minutes to walk to the plaza and about 5 minutes to walk to Canyon Road. We also took advantage of the spa which was fantastic. I had one of the best massages of my life there as did my husband. If we come back to Santa Fe, we will stay here again and recommend to friends.

Thank you for such a glowing review of your stay at The Madeleine, and thank you so much for pointing out the missed touch-up spots in the bathroom. We had just upgraded some of the hardware in the bathroom, and clearly missed a couple of spots that needed a bit of touch-up paint. That has been taken care of. We certainly are grateful to you for bringing this to our attention. Hope to see you again in the near future.
