“Extended stay gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

There's no better location for walking to the plaza, grabbing a quick bite or jumping on the highway. These charming adobe casitas can be your group's headquarters for an extended visit to the area, fully furnished and equipped in a walk to everything location. A little outdoor space and private entrace makes it feel like home. Rooms are small but adequate, service is sufficient. If you want pampering and luxury this isn't for you, but if you want an authentic experience that offers a little taste of what it might be like to live here, this is the choice for you.

Room Tip: Different options offer different bedding that accomodates different size parties, couples/families...

“Adequate lodgings in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We rented three units over the 2011 Thanksgiving holiday for an extended family get together.

**Location: Excellent!! A short walk to countless restaurants, museums, shops and activities.

**Accommodations: The majority of us (7 adults and 1 child) stayed in the large three bedroom Adelante house on McKenzie. I can only personally attest to the room with the king bed and it was very comfortable and I'm fairly picky about this kind of thing. I *really* loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom - a major bonus when renting with a large group. Another group (2 adults and an infant) stayed in the adjoining studio and didn't have any complaints. The couple who stayed in the one bedroom house claim that it was extremely noisy and terribly uncomfortable and switched with one person in our party after the first night. After that there were no more complaints. The living area in the large house is pretty small, but we made it work. It's also worth noting that there were roach traps visible in the kitchen, but this is New Mexico afterall and I'd rather see traps than actual roaches! Also, someone in our party claimed to have seen a mouse in the kitchen, but I never personally had visual confirmation.

**Service: Adequate - no major complaints, but no major shout-outs either. I wouldn't say that Bruce is a real people person, but he was okay to deal with.

**Bottom line: Don't expect a lot of luxury, but these are decent lodgings in a really nice location for a fair price. The homes are old and haven't been updated in a while. However, they were clean and comfortable enough.

Room Tip: Remember that these are older buildings - expect quirks!

“SWEET STAY AND CLOSE TO THE PLAZA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Well when we arrived we drove to the location of 225 Mckenzie and had a bad start where we called the manager BEFORE we arrived and he said he will have the key in the basket. But upon arrival and very tired from Texas to New Mexico we were pooped! The key was not in the basket so we waited for someone to get to us and finally a woman drives up and said how sorry she was and opened our door. A sign of relief since we had our two small chiwawas with us. After that all well smooth and well. We started our adventure and loved our little casita it is close to the georgia mckeaffe art musuem. You can't miss this a must see. If you are coffee lovers walk around the corner next door to the art musuem and they have a coffee shop right there. If you have dogs this is a wonderful a secure place to keep your dogs safe. There is a kitchen and stove gas stove and I would have enjoyed smaller pots and pans and they do haves dishes, cups, glasses, wine glasses a plus.We really loved the washer and dryer to keep the Casita clean. Our trip was fabulous so much to see and wonderful location .......They do have a hot tub outside but they keep it on 86 not very hot....a little disappointing. ...otherwise I would rate this a five star review.they do have ants so be sure to have them rid them before you get there.Tripadvisor friends you will have a blast and don't forget to ride the horse and buggy rides a must see .Enjoy your stay! We did!

Room Tip: MAKE sure they spray for ants in the kitchen.

“Stayed here many times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Granted this property will never be granted a five star rating but for the price you can not beat the location and the breakfast is delicious. Please try the granola, I asked for the recipe and they generously gave it to me. The rooms are more than adequate with bright Santa Fe colors and decor. It is a short three block walk and you are on the Plaza or even a closer walk to many places to eat. If they are full there can be some parking issues . Don't expect clean towels every day or maid service, it doesn't happen but with the money you save you can treat yourself some other way.

Room Tip: Watch the videos, not only are they informative but the owner has his dog in every one.

“Highly recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Just returned from a 12-night stay at 306 Catron (I believe this is one rented by the folks at Chapelle St., but not owned by them.) The casita was perfect in every way - had a beautiful, quiet couryard, full kitchen, eating area, open bedroom/sitting area, big closet (had plenty of shelves and hanging rods but no hangers), French doors from the living room to the courtyard, off-street parking, beautifully decorated, washer and dryer, comfortable bed (sheets felt like silk), an assortment of pillows (one feather), very clean. Very convenient - 5 minute brisk walk or 10 minute stroll from the Plaza, 5 minutes to Claufouttis - wonderful, authentic French food. Really good gellato about 2 blocks away (O Gellato.) Grocery store (both health foods and regular) within a 5-minute drive. Management was very helpful but not intrusive (I asked for a hairdryer to be delivered the next day and it was - had more of a delay getting tp and tissues, but management was apologetic and had it delivered in short time after notification.) Made reservations through Bruce, and he was very helpful in matching my wishes in a casita with what they had available. Stayed in a hotel last time I was in Santa Fe, and found this to be much more relaxing. Would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: When making a reservation, let them know what your needs/preferences are in a casita.
