My husband and I stayed at Wayfarer's Rest about five years ago in what was, at the time, the only private cabin in the backyard. Since we were going to be in the area this summer, we decided to go back and revisit it. They have since built two new private cabins, including a boat cabin, which we decided to stay in because, where else can you stay in a boat cabin?? It was definitely a funky experience - it was basically a regular cabin with half of an old wooden boat stuck on the side! This hostel is a great option if you are looking for a very affordable place to stay. It has shared kitchens, shared baths (you need to bring quarters for the shower, and rent a towel), and the location is great within walking distance of the ferry and downtown harbor area. Obviously, the hostel experience is not for everyone, but we really enjoyed revisiting the island and staying at wayfarer's rest for the second time.
