I cannot believe that this "hotel" carries the BW name--it is dingy and run-down, but has the gall to charge $300 a night just for being in Friday Harbor! The corridors smell musty, and there were strands of hair all over the bed and the bathroom. Our bathtub drain was clogged, but when we called maintenance, all we got was a bottle of Drano that we had to pour down the drain ourselves! Breakfast was sloppy, and the dining area was as tattered and dirty as the rest of the "hotel".
We hope to Return One day. We were picked up from the Ferry by the Manager, Friday Harbour is soooo Pretty & we were very Happy With the Hotel & hope to Return one day.
Thank you for having us. Lesley & Phil Australia & Jackie & Barry from Keizer USA.
We stayed two nights in a 2 bedroom/2bath suite which we paid about $350.00 per night for.. The room was clean and in good condition. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast they offer is not very good. The location is walkable to the downtown area but it is a few blocks. In general the hotel is OK. I beleive there are better hotels in Friday Harbor for less or same price.
I felt our room rate ($340) for a 2 bed queen suite in early June was high for what we got. The toilet would not flush completely (if you know what I mean) because the water level was ridiculopusly low. The shower provided only a trickle of water, the wall mounted hair dryer did not work, the sink would not drain and the brochure pictured restaurant and bar was permanently closed. All this in addition to having no A/C, (only a fan in the room) no view whatsoever (from any room), and very shabby carpets and furniture in every room...All of which we would have accepted if the price was right. It was a huge disappointment for a Best Western Hotel, which I have found usually offer outstanding values. I spoke to the manager and he offered me a $30 discount. I felt it was not nearly enough. The only saving grace was the check in clerk who was very friendly and suggested a wonderful place to eat.... I think it was called "The Place" on the waterfront.
