We stayed at Argyle House for 2 nights in July. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying here. The hosts, Jennifer and Art were kind, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and hearty without being over the top. They recommended a great restaurant for us to celebrate my husband's birthday and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room as a birthday gift. We hope to return to Argyle House as it is quiet, clean, and centrally located in Friday Harbour. Staying at Argyle House offers a wonderful escape from the rush of the mainland. My tip is don't just stay one night... you won't want to leave.

I wanted to thank you both for a wonderful time at Argyle House. We had a great time and my husband's surprise birthday trip was a huge success. We left Friday Harbor last Friday for Lopez where we stayed with friends for the weekend and then I worked out of town this past week. I am now home and wanted to send a note to say "thanks". We were on a quest to see Orcas (killer whales), needed a reasonable place to stay and found The Argyle House Bed and Breakfast on San Juan Island, WA. Art and Jennifer were excellent hosts in their attractive, very clean, well decorated and comfortable B & B. Their house included various sized bedrooms with private baths, well landscaped gardens, a hot tub, plus a living room and dining room for guests to share. They gave us (Mom and Dad) and our 18 year old daughter the perfect room to stay in, served us gourmet breakfasts, helped us with our daily adventure plans and led us to delicious restaurants. The island was beautiful and we saw lots of orcas from boats and from the shore. It was our best vacation ever.

Bed and breakfast is such a nice way to stay on vacation, but so hard when you're gluten intolerant. Most of the places we looked at said we could maybe store food in a fridge, but if my husband's eating a wonderful cooked meal, I kind of like to have one too. And here I could! In fact, the proprietor seems to make a point of being able to cope (wonderfully) with every possible dietary need. I ate delicious, safe food, and had a truly wonderful time. Art helped set us up with a whale-watching trip on our first day which set the tone for our whole trip. Very kind and helpful. Beautiful house and garden. Short walk to town and the harbor. Gorgeous dog. And great food. What more could I want?

Beautifully landscaped B&B with great rooms and breakfast. If I could change one thing it would be the hosts though - not sure if we caught them on an off day or not but their somewhat unfriendly demeanor would make me not book with them again.
