One word: excellent. My husband and I enjoyed a spontaneous one night getaway at the Lakedale Resort this past weekend. We live in downtown Seattle and were hoping for a peaceful reprieve following a very busy holiday season. And that's exactly what we got! Our lodge room was beautiful and included exquisite wood furnishings, our own personal fireplace, french doors that opened straight to the lake and a jetted bath tub. We ate dinner at The Bluff Restaurant in Friday Harbor (which was delicious) and then relaxed by our in-room fireplace until late in the evening. The resort concierge were tremendously helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay so wonderful. We look forward to booking another stay soon. About 20 friends (most had Lodge rooms) enjoyed themselves for 2 nights including New Years Eve and then checking out on New Years Day. Two couples with dogs and my wife & I rented the 3-bedroom cabin next to the Lodge. It had everything that we needed - we prepared a dinner meal for 8 on NYE. The fireplace worked well and provided all the heat and ambiance that we needed, in addition to the forced air. The acoustics were too good as the TV on the 2nd level competed with conversation below. We also rented a rowboat and with two lakes, very convenient and easy. The breakfast area doubled as a game room. Breakfast was very adequate, with an automatic pancake maker, Keurig coffee maker, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc. The staff were very hospitable and took care of all our requests. Very convenient location - equidistant between Roche Harbor and Friday. This was our 2nd NYE event (also last year) at this resort.

I happened to win a free night at the Lodge here. My husband and I dropped our 3 kids off with the grandparents and were off. I REALLY liked getting to stay somewhere kids were not allowed since I was leaving my own kids. We were possibly the only ones staying in the lodge that night, there may have been one other full room. It was very quiet, comfortable, and peaceful. We were on the 2nd floor, and loved the little deck facing the lake. The breakfast was also good for a free "expanded continental"; boiled eggs, granola, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh mellon, fresh berries, pancakes, oatmeal with toppings, sweet bread, bagels, juice, coffee, tea, cocoa, etc. We did not try the jetted tub, so I can't speak to that, but the tub was nice and long. They also have free dvds you can check out from the front desk, an honor snack bar, and an honor wine bar. Our room had a keurig with some k-cups (Tully's regular and decaf), a few types of tea, cider, and cocoa. We really enjoyed dinner at nearby McMillans and lunch at Rocky Bay Cafe in Friday Harbor.

Thank you Lakedale Resort for providing the perfect setting for my family's Thanksgiving Holiday. We played board games, read, rowed on the lake and relaxed together peacefully. I highly recommend this resort for getting away and unplugging.
