“Wonderful service - Noisy at night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I would rate this hotel 5 stars if it weren't for just a few things.
SERVICE - outstanding
ROOM SERVICE - prompt, hot and tasty
ROOMS - see note below
BEDS - very comfortable
PRICE - reasonable for the quality of the stay
PARKING - pricy $35 per night with tax
AMBIANCE - very nice, historical therefore older but very clean (see note below)
LOCATION - great, central to many great things within walking distance

When we first arrived we were assigned a room on the 1st floor right next to the pool area. The room was very small, with very low ceilings, and double glass paned doors leading to the pool. We could hear every word of conversations at the pool area and knew this was going to be a huge problem with noise and trying to get good sleep. The comforter on the bed was also not very clean. They subsequently moved us to the 5th floor with a room that had a street view. This room was much better. Very spacious, tall ceilings, a small couch and sitting area. The bathrooms with both rooms were fairly small with one sink and small tub. This is an older property and I would imagine that at some point they are going to have to remodel these bathrooms to stay in keeping with their price point. The main reasons I cannot give this hotel 5 stars is the thin walls and single pane double glass doors which are the entrance to every room. The rooms are not faced with interior hallways but rather exterior hallways facing the street or the river or the outdoor pool area. We left the fan on in the bathroom every night as well as a white noise app on our phone and were still awoken with people walking by at 2am in their heels, people yelling on the street, or simply people next door flushing their toilets or running water. This is not necessarily the fault of the hotel as this is a historical building. But it is not easy trying to get a good night's sleep here. Otherwise, we felt everything else about this hotel is top notch!

Beautiful room overlooking riverwalk! (Be sure and request a riverview room...worth the extra cost). Our room had a wonderful balcony too...delicious room service breakfast!!! Dinner at Bohannans - within walking distance to the hotel.

Room Tip: You are paying for a top notch view of San Antonio...and the rooms are really nice!! Wonderful plac...

“Nice hotel but in a very noisey location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The Omni has very god staff and try their best to accommodate. I traveled there on business this week and the hotel is clean and has all the "stuff" business travelers need. It is located in the city and many of the rooms have balconies, which unfortunately allows lots of noise in to the rooms. It was very difficult to sleep at night. Get a room off the street and it is a good place to stay

“Great place to stay”

The only reason that I'm not giving this hotel 5 stars is that I never used their restaurant or lounge, so I can't factor that in this review. Spent several days here during a conference in October. I was just a tag along and did not go to the conference so I had time to go all over from this hotel. The hotel staff was great, the room was nice, and the location was perfect. I had a rental car that stayed parked in their garage for 3 days. The hotel is right on the Riverwalk and what a gem that is. The Riverwalk is the reason we never ate or drank at the hotel. We'd definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to go to San Antonio.

We are certainly happy you were able to enjoy San Antonio as a tag along while your traveling companion was in meetings. Hopefully, next time you are in town you will get a chance to try Las Canarias for dinner. It is a magical dining room on the river and with refrain of Spanish guitar in background a truly romantic setting. Hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to La Mansion del Rio.

“Spanish Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Cozy, Classic, Charming accommodations right in the middle of the action on the San Antonio 'Riverwalk'. The architecture is Spanish warmth and with rooms that are done nicely. If you want, there are large suites with French doors leading out to balconies that look upon the riverwalk. A small bar area, a breakfast restaurant and a large restaurant, Las Canarias, all of which are located on the premises. All are very good, along with the service that is tops. And, priced right compared to the other expensive hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces the 'Riverwalk'.
