Large pool, quiet location. Near La Fonda restaurant and not that far from downtown. Although it looks as if they have a free breakfast, they charge. Around $11 I think. But it was good, however not as good as some of the free breakfast other Marriott's offer.

I stayed at this hotel on business about 5 yrs ago and it was "okay"; however, it has improved. Love this hotel! There are about 6+ restaurants within walking distance. It is quiet and I felt safe there. I paid apprx. $99 per night for two twins, one bath; flat screen TV, microwave, small dorm size fridge, coffee maker. HINT: ask for a room that faces the center of the garden/courtyard/pool area...excellent view! Each room has a balcony (2 & 3 floors) or patio (1st floor center facing pool area). This is great and there are two small patio chairs and table, so you can sit outside and enjoy the Texas sun or relax. Very nicely landscaped garden area, with gazebo and a clean and large swimming pool and a whirlpool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a buffet breakfast for $10.99 (full bfast) and the lobby/eating area is nice, clean and large. There is also a business center for checking internet and a fitness center. I think this is an excellent hotel.

The check in/out staff was very nice. The room was musty and dark when I opened the door. I set down my purse on the console to load the fridge below it with water. I happened to look up and notice a small bug crawling toward my purse. We tried to catch it, but it was too evasive. We were hoping to positively identify it because it looked like a bed bug. Needless to say, we didn't stay here at all! Unfortunate.

My family stayed for 3 nights, and we found this hotel very pleasant. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean. We payed an extra $20.00 in the room price for the breakfast, and it was definitely worth it because otherwise, the buffet breakfast is around $11.00 a person. The location was perfect, not far away from most of the attractions of San Antonio and very easy to navigate from and to. We went to Sea World and the River Walk and both were within 10 miles. We would definitely stay here again.
