“We'll Be Back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We were delighted with the Cardinal Room, the lowest priced room but full of charm and numerous additional thoughtful items, including plenty of sherry. The hot tub is located just outside the door so most convenient. The sitting room and the upstairs veranda are lovely. The location in the elegant, historical King William District is perfect - close to the river, to Mad Hatters, the Guenther Restaurant. Lily is a very pleasant, hard-working hostess.

“Happy 2012!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

This place was outstanding. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, friendly hosts, and a really nice room. The best part of Brackenridge House is the attention that the owners pay to their guests. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Everything you could ask for in a good B&B. I highly recommend Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast to anyone stopping through San Antonio.

“Christmas in San Antonio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We enjoyed another great week-end at the Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast. The lights on the River Walk are beautiful this year. We caught the trolley around the corner from the Brackenridge House and got off at the stairway to the river walk. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed seeing Lily and Roland again. We met guests from New York, Pennsylvania, and Brazil. They are wonderful hosts at the Brackenridge. We enjoyed walking thru the King William District and having pastries and delicious coffee at the Guenther House. It was a lovely get away.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but the suites are especially nice.

“Great get Away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We stayed at the Breckenridge with some dear friends from Thursday through Monday and we had an excellent time. The rooms were just wonderful and the breakfast with the other guests was a special treat. We were able to have breakfast and visit with guests from Texas, Indiana, Florida, Tennessee and Europe. The breakfast menu was such that we eagerly awaited each mornings fare to see if it could possibly top the past morning. All were great, the service and presentation was impeccable, one of the best that we have ever stayed in. Kudos to Lilly and Roland.

“Charming B&B - but...train noise at night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

This was my first trip to San Antonio. The location of this B&B is excellent in the King William District just west of town. It is two blocks to the neighborhood starting area of the River Walk and a short pleasant 1/2 mile to the actual down town River Walk loop. There are a number of wonderful neighborhood restaurants and bars. The host, Lily is excellent and strives to make your stay comfortable. The morning breakfast is very good, filling, and varies each day. Parking is off the street in the back of the B&B. There is an outside hot tub but we never used it. The only fault I have with this B&B (and probably every B&B & hotel in this part of town) is at night there are trains that move through the area blowing their horns. The B&B furnishes ear plugs... but really is that what you want on a relaxing trip? I read a few hotel reviews and some of them mention train noise also. It's possible this is just something you have to put up with in San Antonio. Overall the stay was pleasant and I would consider another stay.
