Great hotel. Superb Margaritas at bar thanks to Daniel and chic, yet rustic decor in rooms. We will definitely be back.

The hotel has a great homely feel to it and the rooms are all suite type so you have a living room and either two queen or 1 king bed both rooms have flatscree tv's in so its great if you are with a brat of a daughter and dont want to watch the Kardashian dross all day long!! They have a really nice pool and jacuzi on the roof which is great problem for our stay was the weather was cloudy and rain every day just like England! Staff are really friendly but that applied to everyone we meet in Texas/USA not UK at all. Food in resturant is mexican and again nice but nothing to special. I would defiently stay here again and I am very picky! Only Bad points;
1. Lots of extra charges on the bill i.e. daily charge because they have a pool/gym which is outragous and needs to be removed espically as they dont highlight that on booking.
2. All taxes are extra again not highlighted when you book
3. Car/valet Parking is 30 $ a day but you have to pay it or find some multistorey somewhere
4. Major problem with road noise starting at 6am we were on the highest floor but still sounded like it was outside your window would only stay here again with ariverside room
All in though a great little hotel

The Hotel Contessa was great before we even stayed there. We had named our own price thru Priceline, and called in advance to let them know with 3 of us, we preferred a room with 2 doubles. The desk clerk mentioned how all the rooms were suites (which was a plus that we didn't know) and was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is rather new, so everything is clean and fresh, and furnished with an interesting decor. Located right on the Riverwalk with great views. Restaurants on the Riverwalk were crowded the night we stayed ( night before the Alamo Bowl) so we dined al fresco at the hotel's restaurant, which features a neat Spanish (not Mexican) cuisine. The rooftop pool is really cool, though we didn't use it. Checkout was a breeze, and the bell staff took care of our bags between checkout and us actually leaving downtown, which allowed us to visit the Alamo (thanks to bellman Eddie G., who was most helful and accomodating!)

This hotel was beautiful with excellent staff and has a great location. We were welcomed and even had accommodations for our dog without problem. The staff was very helpful and the service and every aspect of the hotel was comparable, if not exceeding other 5 star hotels where we have stayed.
