“NOT THE BEST HOSPITALITY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

When we stayed at this place we were all excited to stay there. we were a pretty large group so we knew that it would be difficult to please everyone, but we decided to try it anyway. from the moment we walked in, we got the impression that we were not ver welcomed there. the man/ worker at the desk that night was being a little rude when i was asking him about our rooms. (we had reserved 4 rooms) we decided to shrugg it off, and went on with getting our stuff in the rooms. the kids decided that they wanted to get into the pool so we all got ready and went down to get in the pool. we were having a great time, the pool was very clean and the water felt great. when 10 came around the worker began to pretty much shue us out of the pool and being so rude. when i asked him if i could have a towel to dry off he said clamied that he had given the LAST one to my cousin and said that if i wanted one i would have to wait till he washed them. now can someone tell me what hotel doesn't have enough towels to at least dry off with? Well that wasnt the end to the horrible treatment, when we asked him what time the pool would be opened the next day, he responded in a very sarcastic way "when ever i get a chance to clean it, it might take me forever". he kept hurding us out of the gate as if we were animals. finally we couldnt take his rudness anymore so someone finally spoke out telling him that he needed to calm down and be more patient since there was a lot of us and we needed some time. he barked back saying that he was being calm and that he had to close the gate already because it was way past time. it was barely 10:08. when we got into our rooms i took off all the sheets of the bed, to make sure there was nothing in them, as soon as i took them off the first thing i saw was a little black bug in the middle of the bed. i decided to just tough it out and flush the bug down the toilet. my sister did the same thing and to her surprise she found a bunch of hair all over the sheets. we were so angry and tired that we just took the sheets off and shook them very good. the breakfast area was SUPER small. took FOREVER to get all that i was going to get and sit. there were only 5 or 6 tables that sit only 4 people. many people were either eating and standing or they just took it to their room.
over all i would never stay here again! hated the way we were treated, unless you want to be treated like crap then go right ahead and stay here!

“This place is dirty and smells like smoke! Beware!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

The desk help was great and when we needed information. The rooms were dirty, we stayed in a non-smoking room and when we got in there it stunk like smoke. They had this little machine to neutralize the air and we complained and they said somebody spilled cologne? Umm..we are not dumb and know the difference between smoke and cologne. It was so late and we said we will sleep there tonight and if it stinks tomorrow we want another room. The smell did go away by the next morning. I thought it was funny because the rooms you walked by stated no smoking but yet all the hallways smelt like smoke. It was a family trip, we took our kids and they even complained about the smoke. The only thing good was the customer service and we were right next to highway 281. 20 minutes from downtown.

“Not Happy with Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2007

We stayed four nights in this hotel and I couldn't wait to leave...those were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. The night's sleep was further degraded by the insufferable tiny limp pillows (two almost made a decent pillow but don't try to watch TV in bed by lying back on them). When I checked in I had some changes to inquire about. Instead of being forthright and just giving me my options or lack thereof, the front desk clerk was smart alecky and kept reminding me that I need to have made any changes 24 hours prior. I was well aware of the 24 hour rule, I was only inquiring as to whether it would be in the interest of both of us to make the change I was requesting. I didn't need to be told over and over that there was a 24 hour rule for changes...and I didn't need to be told "well, let's make a deal then". I considered him rude and made absolutely no changes to my reservation in the end because I didn't want to deal with him. Apparently, the coffee pot in the kitchen was not working properly so 3 of the 4 days we were there, the "hot" breakfast buffet served lukewarm coffee. The hotel was extremely noisy, we had a ground floor room and the tenants above us sounded like they were doing gymnastics above us. We finally called and complained one night, but although the front desk promised to call immediately, the jumping and stomping upstairs did not cease. I would not stay there again. The price was comparable with other hotels in the area and you can choose another hotel and get better service and a more comfortable stay.

“Great job!!”

I picked this hotel because of the reviews that were previously posted. I would like to agree with my fellow travelers and say that this is a great place to stay, especially if you have children. We booked the two queen and one sofa bed suite. You get a better deal if you book online at the Choice's website. The hot breakfast bar was great. You may want to get there early or take the food back to your room. The dining area is very small. The hotel is very close to area shopping centers. Also, if you are on a budget on food, there is a HEB grocery store that is open 24 hours a day nearby. Getting to Fiesta Texas or Sea World was just a matter of getting on loop 1604 and heading west. Getting to downtown was just as easy as well (Hwy 281 south). Overall, a 20 minute drive will get you to just about any of the main attractions that SA has to offer. The swimming was pool was a little bit on the small size, but ideal for kids. Its only 5 feet deep. We arrived on a Wednesday and departed on a Saturday. We did not encounter any problems with the pool being too crowded. The fitness room only have 3 machines: treadmill, bicycle, and weight machine. All of the machines worked fine. The staff was super friendly. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
